Best way(removing trim)

I know Im going to get reemed for this but I actually like the plastic trim on my k5 where it says "1500" . Since I have a lil bit of a rust problem(just surface) on my rockers I want to take them down to metal then hurculine the botom quarter. Whats the best way to remove the plastic trim so I can put it back on after I put the Herculiner on. But will replacing the 1500 with 2500 badge.

The best way I've found is to just pull it off using a razor to cut the foam adhesive tape. I leave as much of the foam on the truck as I can to keep from damaging the paint underneath. Then I take a 3M rubber adhesive remover wheel in my drill and rub off all the adhesive. Its been the fastest, easiest and least damaging way I've found so far.
