Ok guys in cutting my frame down. Im currently at 130" and i cant decide between 112" or 115". My current tires are 38 swamps but want o upgrade to 44-47" range. Would love thoughts, opinions, pictures etc.

Depends on ride height, what terrain you wheel on, etc.

Basically you want:

a balance of the lowest COG you can get with the highest belly height you can get

a long enough wheelbase that the truck will climb well but a short enough wheelbase that you can still maneuver the truck

a track width that is wide enough to be stable but narrow enough to still steer tight

For me; 42" tires, 21" belly height, 112.5" WB and an overall height of 6'5" is damn near perfect. I do all my wheeling in the rocks though, your ideal may vary ;)

Longer is good too...it'll definitley climb steps and ledges better. My CC is gonna be set-up right at about 139", 37's and likely 6" lift. Belly should be flat. I may need a bit more room to turn, but climbing better is pretty important to me.

I'm about 122 in a SWB with a 6'10"-7' total height. For a street truck it works very well. The turning is definitely not as tight as I would like for trails and I'm real good at scraping the skids if I go over a single large rock though I'll tell you that.

im at 21-22" belly, with a 5" ish lift, and width is just barely outside fenders. and we do trees, woods, mud, rocks, and lots of hills....if this help you give your opinion

If you do a lot of hills and are going 44+ I think 130" wb is perfect.
My truck has 131.5" 42" and 6" works great I think :D

i like my std cab long bed 131.5" wb.

let me give you a idea to think of first.

remove the box. chop the frame at the back hanger to remove a few inches. then build a flatbed and 45* the bed after the tires to the frame. will keep it close and tight.

and if not i would get my tires on first then cut or relocate hangers to fit your needs then. that way you wont have to cut the back of the cab to clear tires.

my crew cab is going to be 35" shorter in wheel base this weekend.

i am doing a flip kit in the rear and running 56" springs backwards to get 4" more out of the frame. as 56" springs are 4" longer in the back side. so fliping them backwards will be 4" longer up the frame that i have room for and 4" les out the back i want shorter. this will give me about 10" clearence to the cab corners with my 8" lift and 38.5 tires and room to grow later. and the end wb spec will be 130" basicly. i am fabing a 4' flat bed on the back for toolbox and spare tire holder and high lift jack.

then i will cut the rest of the frame off the back so no cut and splice.
