When you have the sides and rear curtain rolled up does water collect behind the rear bow and rear curtain...mine doesn't drain and pools up back there. Also, the instructions say to roll the window to the inside making sure not to crease the windows but after you roll it to the inside and drive it the windows crease flat where the holding strap is....

Mine is on an 88

Anybody remedied these problems?

I really liked my tigertop but don't have it anymore because I don't have any kind of top anymore :D

Mine always pooled water up back there too if the truck wasn't moving. I didn't do anything to fix it, just pushed up from the inside or drove it.

Here's the only picture of the top I have on this computer. BTW, I have the windows rolled up the opposite way that 88k5jimmy is talking about:

Where's the pic?

It seemed to roll better the opposite way but I know the instruction say to roll to the inside to not scratch the inside of the windows. However, I haven't tried rolling the side with a dowel or rod and then pulling it out to see if I can get a tighter roll/less creasing. I'll try to get some pics today...

thnaks for the info. i guess i will wait for stc to switch owners and get up running again.

yeah, but i'm not holding my breath. they said the same thing when Can-bak went out of business!

Fellas,
Do you think there is anything we could do collectively to persuade/petition STC or the new owners to get their sh1t together and start making tops again. I know things like this rarely have an affect but it seems that there are dozens upon dozens of CK5 members alone that would buy a top if production started. Any wealthy CK5ers have deep pockets and willing to buy this company or what have you to make the rest of us happy? ....Bueller? ....Bueller?

I just got done putting mine on:

Haven't had any rain yet since I got it on, I'll post up when we do. I have however driven it at 65 mph, and it's just as quiet inside as with the hard top. I have to move the bows back to tighten the back end of it up, but waiting on sunshine and heat to get that done.

i even emailed petersen's 4wheel regarding their article about the stc top. no reply as of yet. im jonzen for a soft top.

Here's a side shot with the sides rolled up. I think I'll just have to push the water off of it after it rains cause it's just the nature of the beast...also thinking about rolling the sides the opposite way of the instructions...gonna test it out and see which is better. The windows just seem to crease more when rolled per the instructions.

It's easy. I got mine done in about 2 hours total. Just need to take your time, and measure everything twice. Drilling was easy enough, just made sure to use silicone in and around the holes. I got too impatient on waiting for the sun, so ended up running the heater in the Jimmy for about 2 hours to heat the top up. I think if I had waited on the sun to heat the top up (making it softer and easier to stretch) I might have been able to get it a little tighter.

Holes were easy...I center punched them and siliconed them as I put them in.

Fellas, do the windows zip off or just roll up? Would there be any way to snap it to an aluminum rail mounted to the bedside top rail similar to the fast track models rather than drilling and snapping to the sheet metal? Could one of you get close up pics of the windshield frame and other important attachment areas please. Thanks.
