Bestop Tigertop owners

Fellas, do the windows zip off or just roll up? Would there be any way to snap it to an aluminum rail mounted to the bedside top rail similar to the fast track models rather than drilling and snapping to the sheet metal? Could one of you get close up pics of the windshield frame and other important attachment areas please. Thanks.

I bought mine used, and am no longer certain whether I have the STC or the Tigertop. At any rate, I am pretty certain that they both use a 'rail' along the top bedside. That rail is mounted to the body with screws, or bolts if you wish, and the top is attached to the rail via 'snaps'. The only place where the snaps are screwed directly to the body is the tailgate.

On the tigertop, the windows just roll up. Mines an 87 and the top comes about 1.25 inches down from the top of the bedrail. Not sure if any pics of mine would help you out any, but I'll take some if you need me to.

Ok so anyone get some pic's of the mounting on the Bestop. I am seriously considering this, would make life a lot easier. I plan to remove my top for most of the summer and fall, but since I am not near my house all the time, a soft top would be awesome for rain and what have you. Plus it would keep the kids out of the sun.

Here are a couple. Note the gap in the roof pieces is a mistake. The previous owner installed the top slightly incorrect. I've worked around it.

If you want I can email you the pdf instructions, send me your address.

That definitely is a tigertop but mine didn't have that rail. The instructions even say to put the snaps into the body :dunno:

Now that I look back at the pictures, that one is different than the one I had. It does look very similar to my tigertop but there are some subtle differences.

I'd bet its either an old tigertop or its not a tigertop.

The ones I have been looking at for the new Bestop's have the rails and don't apply the snaps directly to the body, they use rails just like the STC's. And they have an option for the fast track setup. It is about 30 dollars more for this option, and I am thinking about it.
