how many miles are on this engine?

My previous motor in the Burb, the original had 250k+ miles on it, and it would ping under a decent amount of throttle, also a buddy of mine's engine did this when he got it, we replaced the heads and it went away.

old tired heads/valvetrain...

Try running 89 octane gas in it and see if it clears up. I had to run 93 in my 305 due to the spark rattle but now for some reason it will run on 87 with out spark rattle.
