torque was probably the wrong term to use... EVERY wet manifold setup I've ever seen has better off throttle performance up to about 1500 rpm's, then the efficiency of the dry intake starts to win out....
and it's not a matter of them dying at 5 grand, it's that last 1000 rpm's where the dry intake is much better than a TBI... heck, TBI falls on it's face long before a MPI.... it's like a jet drive boat vs a prop boat, performance-wise, the jet is just so much more efficient at the top end...
that's all marine chevy v8 stuff for almost 20 yrs now, but it's all the same principle...
