been thinkin of trading the sentra in for a 6 spd camaro...my buddy's 98 ss with a 6spd manual got 25 if he kept his foot out of it.
A gripe of mine - the basic premise is these are eco-mobiles supposedly built to wring every bit of mpg out of a gallon of gas, yet when I drive my ol' hotrod hatchback down the freeway at just a tick or two above the speed limit ('cause I'm not made out of money and ain't in a hurry), those things are regularly passing me doing 75-80. Especially ironic was the one plastered with 'save-the-planet' stickers on its back.
Yeah, right, probably dragging their mpg lower than mine by doing that, with each one of those new cars representing a carbon footprint the size of Texas resulting from all the fresh plastic they're made out of. Tree-hugger I am, squeezing 32 mpg out of a 25-year old car...
