Are you going to lift it at all?
I'm not sure about stock springs, I'm sure a custom set could be built up though, by Alcan or Deaver?
I just worked hard on making my '89 V1500 Suburban ride smooth. The front has 4" Tuff Country H.D. springs, while the rear has 4" Pro-Comp 56" springs. I am now running Bilstein 7100's (255/70 valving I believe) in the front with 5100's in the rear. It's riding quite excellently for such a large vehicle. Railroad tracks are soaked up so well you hardly know you drove over them. I haven't been off road yet though; although I'm expecting the results are going to be excellent as well.
I also installed a set of ORD's swaybar disconnects, to free up the front axle movement mostly. It adds a "shackle" to the sway bar, so that it won't bind up on up & down movement of the axle.
If you are keeping the stock springs, I would still recommend Bilstein for the shock of choice; although with stock lengths, you may end up with the yellow body version.
Good luck!
