I put 33X10.5 AT's (yeah, they looked like pizza cutters) on my first blazer and never looked back. They're great for general driving both on and off road. Mud is a little iffy, but I tell ya where they really shine is the snow. I would go up hills in 2wd where AWD or 4wd vehicles would gets stuck or stall. I've put so many 'built' rigs to shame with these things in the snow, and I'd do it again w/ the AT's if I had the chance.

Please tell me more about these "Ground Dog" tires. I ran some with a very similar name some years ago, and found them to be exceptional mud tires that wore like iron on the street.

Why did you take them off after using them one day? What did you do with them?

LT235/85R16 TA/KO on the Burb. XCLNT street, wet or dry. PowerTrax fr & rr, claws the rocks, 18psi. I dragged the diffs through Soda Lake mud, didn't need to speed/float accross. Again, all 4 were clawing, but I think it has a lot to do with the combo of the BFGs being ~50% mud perf. and LSDs fr and rr.:xmas:
 
I say go with th bfg mud terrains ive had them and they didnt wear out very fast they look good and less road noise they served me good in all types of weather.

I did get stuck on some big tree roots and some ice when i crossed out of a creek but that was my own dumn fault for wheeling in a blizzard.... I would have gotten out if there wasnt a huge tree behind me. (should of stopped the 7th time and i could have drove it home)

so all in all id say they are the best in my opinion.
 
I've seen them to be a great all purpose DD tire, from friends trucks. Myself never have owned them, but I'm just a hair trigger away from ordering a set of 37x12.50R17 BFG A/T's for my CC.

Check-out their site, it has the complete list of sizes, actually a very info chart. I printed it and I keep going back to it when I see another rig and start thinkin about "bigger".

Ground Hog or however it is spelled. I just flat out didn't like them. They were 38.5's and measured just over 36". They just did not appeal to me. Yes they are good in mud but I just didn't like them. Had 2 friends that ran 44's and I didn't like them either. I just didn't like them and sold them a long time ago.
 
I run the BFG AT's on my tow rig and have for years. They are some of the best all around tires I have ever used. They do wear great even on my heavy 4 door. I wouldn't want them for tons of mud. I had the MTRS before on the same truck and they chunked and didn't last long.
 
ill never bye a set of those things ever
i have had so many problems with them in thew past that come to my work IE: separated beads shifted belts and treads that come appart
not a good tire!!!!

The answer to that is simple and has nothing to do with tires. A jeep weighs 3500 pounds, a k5 weighs 5000. The grip was at the bottom of the muck and not on top. Sometimes floatation is good and sometimes it's bad... theres no way around it.

A/T's will never find their way onto my truck. We get way too much rain up here to run em and I like having tires that gain traction as you spin em up not clog up and become slicks. A/T's might last twice as long but you'll have half as much fun.:D

I had a set of 32" Dunlop Mud Rovers on my K5. They cleaned out well and worked wonders beyond the wal-mart brand ATs that were on it before.

There are other brands than Interco and BFG that you could look at for an MT-type tire.

There's even places that sell retreads at a reasonable price (those green diamond guys... I forget the website).

Don't forget about Interco's blemished tire page, either!

Bummer... I was stoked until I saw the 2 tire limit on irok radials... and the 1 tire limit on the ssr's
 
The one comment I have heard from everybody I personally know that ran the Goodyear's is they wore out FAST!

I have run both the Kms and The KO's. It really depends on your needs. The AT will do MUCH better on the street especially on wet pavement. They ride excellent. They wear excellent. They did OK in dry FL sand the few times I had tried.

Now The KM's I loved! They wore GREAT. Rode really good compared to most Muds I have seen. Did pretty good in the mud. I have wiped out side walls that the Swamper probably would have survived. Its no swamper in the goo but you will be buying two sets of swampers before you wear out one set of BFG's if you are on the pavement a lot.

I'm in the planning stage of my next truck. I have a set of 35 inch KM's here that I had planned on putting on this truck. I am starting to consider a milder build because this truck is also my DD and I just don't have much time for trail riding these days. I was going to SAS this truck but now I am considering a long travel IFS (12 inches of travel and thats nearly as good as I got on my lask K5) . I will down size to a 33x10.5 to keep the rotational mass down if I do keep the IFS. It will be better braking and ride and probably go with an AT because of the better street ride and wet weather but I will guarantee it will be another set of BFG's.

KM = BFG MUDS.
 
dam I had all terrains forever they always worked great all around they clog in heavy mud but thats easy to fix , Put it on the floor and spin the **** out of them.
