Hey y'all, Im thinking about buying some BFGoodrichAll Terrain T/A KO tires and i was wondering if anyone has these and how they like them. I dont do any serious off roading, but my K5 is my every day driver. Any reviews or advise is appericated. Thanks.

I've had a few different sets over the years and I love them. For a daily driver/light wheeler they're great. I wouldnt take them in the rocks since they're soft but they really shine in the sand, dirt or on pavement.

For everyday driving they are really good. I've had a few sets on the suburban and they are great! I am actually heading down later today to get a price on them. Expensive but a real good tire.

For today and tomorrow, Discount tire is offering a $100 visa card with a set of tires purchased. Worth looking into if they are in the area. Mine are going to run me about $1300 so it is a chunk of changd!!

I've had two sets. Best looking all terrain tire out there due to the sidewall. First set had around 85,000 miles that I put on them. No telling how many before i got them. Second set were on a truck I sold with 25,000 miles on them and still looked brand new.

Only problem I know of is on wet clay dirt roads they pack up and get slicker than snot. Not no fun goin uphill without traction

I went back and forth trying to decide between the BF KM2 or Goodyear MTR Kevlar. I ended up going with the goodyear tires… mainly because at the time they were a little cheaper. But don’t think you can go wrong with the KM2

BFG makes a great tire. I would say that's a fine choice. :waytogo:

:sign7:

My KM2's have been great, taken some good abuse.

Ive had a few sets of radial t/a's on my street machines, the fronts usually seem to last, cant say much about the rear's for some unknown reason?:whistle: :thumb:

Why do I have to be the stupid guy? Oh you must have read my thread.:haha:
:doah:

Btw I've ran BFG MT's well after their expiration date and they never let me down.

Right now I'm rolling on BFG Krawlers. I love 'em.

My second choice would be the Goodyear Kevlars.

I love BFG tires. I've had a few sets of the AT's and loved those. I plan to get a set for my '87 V30 dually when the time and money allow.

Have a (small) set on my DD Tracker right now. Never was a fan but these came with it. I have to say they're living up to the hype. Expensive as hell but they wear well and ride and drive nice. Offroad they've surprised me. However they are an AT so if you want to do mud, get mud tires.

have a set of the orginal design they have been on a few trucks they are great only problem ive had is in the snow, traction is good but they feel real greasy traveling

I had a set of 31x10.5's on a jeep wrangler, that saw light trails and highway use, and deep snow in vermont. I loved them, never had a complaint.

the K5 saw more mud and off roading, and i loved my deeper block tread of my goodyear MTR's for that, and they were also still great on the highway.

cant go wrong with either option.

Had a set... Don't want another... They come brand new at 16/32 tread depth, so you really are not getting a lot of tread there from the get go... For mud, I think they suck. For wet trails, I think they suck. Also noticed the lugs on the tires rip easily. For daily driving they are loud. The snow they do ok... Sand ok...

You live in California. What part? Do you see any snow? What kind of wheeling do you do? What size rim and what is the max size tire you can roll?

See if I can find a good tire for ya:):thumb:

What you and I both need are some Competition Baja Claws:pimp:

But unfortunately... They don't make them in our size....

Soo, with that being said... Your rig spends a lot of time on the roads? Light trails? Perfect set would be the cheap take offs, if they can fit your rig...

The good thing about these tires is that they are cheap, hard rubber compound for better longevity (85,000 miles claimed) and easy to add grooves or sipes for more traction.

BFG all terrains rock in the sand fyi. The sob's just float.

Mines a daily driver and I had the same dilemma awhile back. The size BFG A/T I wanted was backordered by months and so I ended up with goodyear duratracs and I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased I didn't get the BFG's.

I think the BFG is a good tire, but for just a bit more the duratrac gives you more aggressive tread, more sidewall lug and more ply's. Really quiet on the highway. I'm only about 1500 miles into these ones, but they still look new, and guys are reporting 45k out of them, which I look on track to do.

Either would be a good choice though!

Been running them for at least 10 years.

No real complaints. Traction in an AT is always going to be a compromise, but if you buy them knowing that, you can't be disappointed in their performance if you ask for more than they are designed for.

I have found that they ride FAR better when aired down to 15-20PSI when travelling dirt roads with lots of potholes and washboard. These are 8 ply sidewall tires (was looking at some load range D's that were only 2 ply) and the difference between 35 and 20PSI is night and day.

I would agree that in wet clay-type soil, and certain snow conditions, they pack up pretty quick, my experience in particular with snow. Not much of what I run n, so not too concerned with it. Plus airing down gets the side lugs doing some work, which does seem to help.

it's an all terrain, it's about the quietest tire you'll ever hear.. he!!, my KM2's are WAY more aggressive and you can barely hear them on the highway...

for a DD'r, it's hard to beat an AT BF, they last like 50, 60 grand, are an excellent wet weather tire, etc... it's not a mud or offroad tire... BF G has always made outstanding tires, from old school TA radial's to Mall terrains to modern day KM2's..
