Bicycles

Like some of you I'm both old school and stopped riding when my bike got stolen. I loved that bike, we had a relationship. Of course you guys remember Hutch right? PK ripper? What happened to all the old school bikes?

A friend of mine is selling his bike shop (in Seal Beach if you wanna buy it). Coincidentally, my kid just finally killed the bottom bracket bearings in his 20" Huffy.

So my buddy made me a sweet deal and I just bought a SoCal Flyer for my kid. Father of the Year!

Rode BMX as a kid till I got a drivers license. I rode everywhere till I could drive. Fractured my jaw a month before my birthday. Tore my bike apart to rebuilt it while I healed up. While on a camping trip, someone thought they needed my chrome Dyno more than me. I didnt ride for two years. Bought an Iron Horse mtb with a spring fork. Thought I would give the woods riding a try.
That was kind of a failure as I stayed to the city trails. I didnt really know where to go and I was more concerned about roosting sand on the weekend. Another 5 years went by and I was in the market for a bike again. I bought a "too small for me" KHS hardtail. Thought I could ride a smaller MTB like my BMX bikes as a teenager. A couple of downtown crashes and I decided to stay on trails with it. I even rode that bike in a triathlon. Used it to chase elk all over logging roads. Gave it to my son a couple years ago to ride around the property. Bent fork and all. It now hangs in the shed.
I now ride a Fuji 29" full suspension as my all around woods, hunting, family outings bike. With my son getting into mountain bikes though. I ended up getting a Transition Dirtbag to ride downhill with him. I bought it used and need to do some tuning. First trip out, I found an air bubble in the brakes. The was a pretty wild situation going into a hard switchback.

I cross-threaded my bottom bracket yesterday trying to replace the bearing in my Fuji.. Gonna try some local shops see if anyone can make something happen from this. I'm dissapointed in myself.

Taking it in after work. They've been around since 1912. They have a tap set hopefully they have a monkey trained to use it. Threads aren't a horror show, didn't loose much from them but couple of dinks in the first thread or 2. But, enough that I feel it should be chased. Hopefully they'll be able to save the frame.
