Big block guys

Yep, eBay heads. Before I bought them I asked the seller what brand they are and where they came from. He said they're unbranded and straight from china.
Since I'm putting all my own components in them, the only thing I'm curious about is if the combustion chamber is the 115cc's like advertised or not.
And if there actually flat......major issue w/ the knock off cheapies!

drop a couple valves in and measure a chamber.

I checked them with a straight edge and they appear to be flat.

I don't have any valves to drop in to measure. I'll either have the shop measure them for me or measure them when I get them back and assembled.

Dang man, was that the set of 781's I sold you?

Yes, it's those heads. It's all good though, I'm not worried about it. Hopefully Freddy and Zeno get these set up for me.

My delima now is, do I spend money and get this engine together? Or spend money and get the chevelle's interior so I can atleast drive it with the little straight 6? I've already replaced the rear floor pans and will be moving to the front pans Monday. Also converted it to a hydraulic clutch setup, just waiting on the throw out bearing.

The engine doesn't have much more until it's done. Intake, headers, distributor, plugs, wires, dipstick, accessories, flywheel, and fitech. I think that will get it in the car. I won't put it in without a T56 though. I'll be picking up as much overtime as I can this summer for that.

I think I might be inclined to buy the interior stuff. The motor would be fun but you can always cruise around in a nice car without a fire breathing motor.

/\ this

Start with the engine, it goes straight to MAW.
Get it running and drive it. Upgrade as you go

Are Freddy and Zeno who told you the heads need so much work?

Yea...
I talked to Freddy on the phone for a while then brought them the heads. Told Zeno about the engine and he said it should be a good street motor and the 781's should workout perfect for it. Then Freddy called me and told me the price for everything.

I've already got the floor pans and carpet. I need to get the seats reupholstered and new seat belts and I should be able to start driving it. I also need to go over the brakes really well before I really start driving it, they were kind of sketchy when I test drive it.

Picked up the heads today. I have a quick question. On the head gaskets, there are no holes for the water jackets on the bottom portion of the block/heads. Do I need to add the holes, or leave them unopen?

You mean there's a coolant passage in the heads but not the block?

No, in the head gasket itself. There are no holes for the coolant passages on the bottom portion of the gaskets. The exhaust side of the engine

Everything is just set in place. I need to get 8 new head studs b/c of the raised exhaust ports. I also need to measure for pushrods. Then it might sit for awhile... My goal for the car is to take it on powertour 2018, with this engine and a T56.

If the heads & block have the coolant passages but the head gasket doesn't....you need a different gasket. I had to drill my block because it didn't have the bottom passages

Here's a long shot of a question. I ordered up some headers, still need to measure for pushrods, but want to go ahead and order motor mounts. I'd really like to use the motor mounts from DIY4X like I have in the blazer, but, does anyone know if they'll play nice in a 67 Chevelle?
