big block or not

Big block is the only way to go...... /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I run a LT-1/zz4 350...400 lbs torque..in my rig..
I pulled 3 rigs with it...up 1/2 mile hills...
at 30* angles too!!!

To me...a BB is Great for a Tow vehicle..
a waste for off-road...
especially since weight is an issue around here...

But for the money...I'd go for it!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

In my opinion a stock 454 has plenty of torque for most types of wheeling and the weight issue I don't really see as a problem, K5's are not exactly lightweight and a 100 lbs extra you won't notice with all the extra torque you will have. In addition to that I am sure that my stock 454 with 4 bolt mainbearings will last longer and take more abuse than a built 350 or 383. I love my fofittyfo /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

That pretty much sums it up in a nutshell.

GREAT for a tow vehicle. Not necessary or even helpful depending on your wheeling habits.
