I cry bullshit on 13 mph without overdrive. My 350 powered 2WD 1 ton with fuel injection hardly does that.

You have no personal experience with that subjuct so keep yer frigging opinions to an actual real fawkin real world experiece.

POWERMAD, I have a 2wd C30 with a BBC and it doesn't get near 13mpg. I have BBC experience but if you know that you got 13 than that is great! Are we done now and act like adults without calling eachother butt lickers. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

with a 3 axle gooseneck loaded down with about 30,000lbs total weight headed to texas from here in Cali. 5 mpg. Drove down south on a 275mile trip and got about 10.5 to 11 at the best and mine is a 2wd.

Okay, I've had a few 454's in my time. The 78 C30 crewcab duelie got around 15 mpg's. The 72 K5 got around 6 mpg's. Lets keep in mind that gears, tire size, and trannys will effect the mpg's. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Nail on the head.

now im all bummed out cus i cant get a 502 for my tow rig.

Sand Racer, if you got the cash put the biggest low end TQ motor in your rig you can. and a th400 or a manual. it may come down to the fact if you want to use your burban to play with as well then to buy a dedicated tow rig. then a diesel comes to mind.
