Big block or whatever!!

I drove a large uhaul truck about 12 years ago that had a chevy motor in it. It was a bigblock but I could swear it said 352 on it. may have been the 348
All i know is it had a massive water leak somewhere and was overheating like a biatch. I was sick of stopping and getting coolant and P'sd OFF. So I just drove it and figured I'd make them bring me a new one and swap our stuff when it blew up. temp gauge read 300 a couple times and that Fokr drove 3.5hrs like that
shut it off to unload at the house, then it started right back up and drove another 40 minutes to where we were supposed to leave it. Dam good motor what ever it was

yeah, it was very troublesome...cool valve covers though...
Don't remember what the valve covers looked like actually. Terrible idea to try and get some mileage numbers out of the engine. Engine itself wasn't so bad just the management. Interestingly enough, disconnecting one wire from the ECU or whatever it was called and it was a locked to all 8 cylinders, all the problems went away.

Well I drove a caddy with one of those engines, I drove it for 2 months racking up 18000 miles and I can say if you knew how to drive it, it was interesting and we got an average of 19 MPG for those miles driven.The 368 was available before the 8-6-4 but only for one year.
I wouldn't dream of mentioning the 8-6-4 abortion of an engine management system. Now that you have....
It did have an imbalance when in 6, and then sounded like a motor driven bicycle when in 4, but like I said, it wasn't bad, but we didn;t have it for long term to see durability, my sister got T boned when the car had less than 90k miles and the car was scrapped.
I worked at a Caddy/Pontiac dealership at that time, and there were a lot of problems with the solenoids...the engine seemed sound but the solenoids would give up on em.
