Anyone know the tank sizes for gen 1s. also curious if anyone has ever seen a bigger bottom dragging reach out and hang up on everything tank than this. I like the extra range that it gives but not at the expense of clearance. May try to trade my way into something smaller. Opinions/ideas.

North west metal product tank, should be 50+ gallons and have 4 mounting plates on the bottom that run up through the tank to the bed... lemme see if I can find a picture...

like that

I know Burt4x4 is running one of their 37 gallon tanks.

Mine's a 37 gal. Its kind of nice you're going a long way getting 9mg, but does have its share of rock rash.

Who's counting? I close my eyes at the fuel pump.

Yup. Just close eyes and squeeze. I'm thinking about 35-40 gal. I just hate gettin hung up on everything. But the range is nice though my jimmys not quite up to long trips again just yet. Got some cooling issues to work through.

I have one also. About to put it back in. Going to put POR15's fuel tank sealer in. Was thinking about mounting it different.

Why do they mount to the bed? Is that ideal? I was thinking about making some brackets and bolting it to the frame. Not sure though, haven't decided.

The 37 Gallon's should be good for trips over the pass to Eastern Wa next Summer! (if we get a summer):D

I think mine is mounted to the frame. Now I gotta go check

I'm pretty sure mine mounts to the bottom framerail also though mine is alot closer in appearance to the second pic.

SBD, what size shoes does your rig have? Any ground clearance pics of the tank. I'd like to keep mine but I hate dragging it across everything.

Well I'll be running 33's but right now I've got trailer tires on it so no new good pics from the rear, but here is what I got.

thanks SBD the top pic does help with comparing what Ive got to what you have. the lift really does help more than i thought with ground clearance. Im thinking when I get to that point on mine ill want to run 37"s maybe 35s but want to keep as low a c/g as possible so i may only go 4-6" of lift and trim from there. But for now off to chase down a fuel problem since the 3 phase power went down at work I now have time. Though shortly it will be 90 degrees and 100% humidity.
