I'm runnin' 40 gumbo mudders right now. And I'm thinking of going to a set of ground hawgs, (same size) or possibly some 38-39" swampers.(Hey Pureinsanity,38.5" swampers are actually taller than 40 gumbo mudders. Not sure about the hawgs, but the're made by the same company.)
My 82 K30 has 39" Mickeys. We just installed some 46" Firestone Field & Turf tires two weeks ago, just to see what it looked like. It was HUGE!!! They barely fit with 6" suspension and Bushwacker cut-out flares. I have some pics of the truck in the sand pit mud bogs. Awesome pics, now if only I can scan them........
actually,40s and 38 swampers are pretty close in size i just prefer the xtra width and my xperienceis hawgs last longer(provided you dont smoke em too much and rotate em)i smoked a set of hawgs to death in about 6-8 months i was young, and i could so i did!im not sure about the hawg/mudder thing(hawg denman/mudder gateway)
bluebeast,i dont think hawgs will dig as good as boggers.ive got tsl's on mine.i like the xtra width, but boggers wear too fast on a heavy truck, otherwise id get them.ok regarding the motor im goin off of an article in hotrod or chevy hiperformance i dont remember which, they built a motor almost identical to what i was building, theirs had a touch more cam lift(like .10thousands) and less comp, with the same vortec heads.they dynoed right at 400or above.i could actually be disapointed but the motors were almost identical. if anyone has the comp program and would run it id be thrilled.
here it is :
