im new to this site just bought a 86 jimmy 6in rough country lift with 35x12.50 mickey thompson mtzs on it now and i was wanting to go a little bigger, would 37x13.50s fit without any rubbing?

If it sees street time only and you're very careful about hitting bumps while the tires are turned, maybe.

In reality, in my opinion it doesn't work. It depends on the wheel width/backspacing etc. but a 32" tire is the biggest tire that will fit in the wheel well with absolutely no trimming, so anything bigger means trimming the fenders, lots of lift or setting bump stops such that the tires can't hit the fenders.

With 6" of lift, especially with a stiff set of springs like the Rough Country's, you might be able to get away with it on the street if you're careful about hitting bumps with the tires turned.

Offroad, there is practically zero chance of a 37" tire fitting without way more lift or trimming the fenders a little.

thanks for the advice ive been looking all over the internet tryin to find answers and from some reviews i got yes and from some no,im with you on it hitting on bumps and turning,i was figuring it would rub esp when turned max,but i havent seen the truck in person yet im deployed now ,so i bought it and shipped it to my fathers house, but from the pics it still looks like there is room to go bigger, but i was wanting to go ahead and buy the tires now,but i might go with a 36in instead maybe a 36x14.50,depending on the bacspacing,it has dick cepek dc1's on it now 15x10

Remember width is sometimes worse than height. My jimmy has a 6" lift, 35s they rub like crazy off road.

Now there are a number of things you can do ez inches from diy4x can gice you an additional inch of lift but more importantly move the axle forward an inch, that along with slight trimming may allow a 37 to fit.

Also tire sizes are not reality, take 10 different 37s air em up on the same wheel you will probably end up with 10 tires that are different heights.

Off road to fit either a 36 or 37 I would say ez inch along with some trimming would do ya. Even on road I doubt either tire will fit without any rubbing

thanks for the feedback guys,im glad i came on here and got some opinions before i bought new tires,i just feel that the 35s dont fill out those big fender wells that great,it also has buswhacker flares on it so,that does make them look a little smaller

I have a 6 inch rough country with 37 Toyo MT's on 10 inch wide rims n have no rubbing on the street. I've been running this combo for two years.

Thornbirds are seriously the worst tire ever suck on road (loud) hydroplane easy, they wander everywhere, off road they just suck I mean really bad.

I was in this sport when they came out and tons of guys bought em once, they truly are a worthless tire

Hey well interco says "great in sand"

they suck right up there with the truxxus ones.

My thornbirds that came on my blazer sounded like an entire army of biplanes were on top of me

my dad took the fender flares off today and sent me a pic and the 35s look alot better and fill it out alot more now,and yea i read the reviews on those tires, ive been into lifted trucks since i was a kid,and i know they deff dont have the best reviews,my buddy had them on his 79 f150 in highschool and they were not horrible tires but there are deff better tires out there

i was wondering how loud they were all the reviews say decently quiet, but by lookin at them they seem like they would be loud,im used to the noise i had the nitto m/t's on my last truck and those things howl,i ran the bfg KM2's on the other truck and i will say those things were great, road smooth, lasted forever and performed great

Howl is an understatement.

Having ran them before I can say I would rather run donut car tires than thornbirds... Not just because they suck, but because other people are going to see them on your truck and think that you think they are cool.
Lol

thanks for the advice guys, what tires work best on and off road for performance, this truck will be for fun and for tripss back and forth to work and the store,so im lookin for a tire that performs good and looks decent on the truck as well, the tsl radials have goood reviews just dont know how well that soft tread will hold up

Ive always had TSLs. My jeep came with bfg km2s.

I think i will be sticking with KM2s from now on.

yea those KM2'S are deff a great tire i was amazed at how many mile i put on them and when replaced them they still had plenty more to go,great tire
