Billet Aluminum front spring crossmember and steering arm

You are just not safe anymore with all the aluminum products out there. We all are just going to have to stay home it is not safe out there any more. :haha::haha::haha::haha:

i just noticed the frame n my window in the living room is aluminum!

That sh!ts gonna fail, I risked my life and slept on the couch near that window a time or too:eek1:

I'm making my steering arms out of compressed aluminum foil

Better yet, how about aluminum knuckles :ignore:

Most cars have aluminum knuckles. I know mine has them at all 4 corners. So is the steering rack and the engine support brackets.

x2 have seen quite a few. What about aluminum tie rods, links for suspensions, doubler's, aluminum wheels....the list goes on.

I just read thru this whole thread and followed the link the scary steering and DAMN!!! That is some crazy, super crappy, disturbing fab work. I thought I'd seen some crazy stuff til I read all that.

Oh and as far as your steering arm; I think plastics are the way to go, not aluminum. So make a mold of your current steering arm. Then save up as many wal-mart bags, six pack holders, and Grizzly dip cans. Melt them into a big collage of goo then pour it into the mold and let sit for half hour. Should be uber strong and super light weight. Much better than aluminum.

Just my $.02:D

I usu pay close attention to my nuts. Further more I dedicate more time to where and, even more so, when I get my nuts. For the most part I try to limit these to the bedroom and either early morning or late at night, but, hey to each his own

Nah. Carbon fiber is the way to go.

What caused this 6.9 million dollar disaster ????

a small aluminum nut designed to hold the fuel pipe fitting in place failed due to subsurface corrosion not visible to the naked eye.

That's right ! A failed ALUMINUM PART......sub surface corrosion no less
Could it have been Al-Aly 2219? That stuff has a high Copper content, and corrodes under the surface. The Shuttles have a lot of that stuff.

OOOOOHHHHH I've got an idea !!!!

Aluminum billet square tube driveshafts...If that sh*t is so damn strong..
I'm sure you Engineer & CNC types can whittle one up,,,

What about billet aluminum u-joints and driveshaft yokes and slip joint splines ???

I know !!! billet aluminum ring and pinion gears !!!

Hey!!! How about aluminum billet crankshafts for big blocks !!

Billet aluminum camshafts= light weight valvetrains !!

Cross drilled aluminum billet brake rotors !!

Aluminum billet D60 spindles, hubs, drive flanges !!!

Billet aluminum wheel studs !!

WTH is your problem?

Some things can be made out of aluminum, some things can't. Get over it.

And I know some people are kinda taunting you too, but this crap is getting stupid.

ease up dood ,,,,just having a little fun....

And just proving a point that just because you CAN make something out of aluminum,,,doesn't make it the right choice.....

That's cool, it just seems like you kept trying to argue the same point a bunch of times in a row.

The other guys were just goofing around, I didn't really see your posts as that.
