Anyone know the part #'s for the 11", 12" and 14" travel ones people are using? The on-line catalog isn't really helping me since they don't list that much travel for a K5 application. Are they really 5125's?

I know I could just buy from ORD, but I'd like to at least know what premium I'm paying, if any.

From what I was told from ORD the 5125s are for the rear. They recommended 5100s off of a F-250 for the front. I always thought 5100s were for a 0-2" lift (in this case a 0-2" lift for and-250) so I don't know if the 5100s are 11", 12", or 14" travel.

If I knew the valving I wanted, that would help. I did some searching and it seems like 255/70 is on the soft side. The other option in 5125 is 298/36. I don't know much, but that sounds quite different. I think it means stiff compression and very soft rebound?

The 255/70 14" 5125's are cheap from Amazon:

Presumably, lighter valving is correct for the rear, at least for compression since it's so much lighter. I think I probably want an 11" travel shock back there. The 33-186559 5125 has 175/60 valving ... ?

Not sure if you have decided yet or not, but on PolyPerfromance's website they have the breakdown and recommendations for vehicles, including our K5's. From what I have found the 5100's seem to basically be application specific 5125's. Look at the recommended part numbers for a K5 with 3-4" of lift on the 5100 page http://www.polyperformance.com/shop...-Shock-for-Chevy-GMC-Trucks-SUVs-p-19258.html, and you can see exactly what the travel and valving is on the page for 5125's http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Bilstein-5125-Series-Shock-p-26817.html.

Hope that rambling made sense and this helps.

Oops, the 3-4" ones aren't on the 5125 page, but the 2" and 6" recommendations are I believe.
Sorry

Thanks. Looks like the same info as the Bilstein site:

Problem is that these guys aren't keeping up with the kind of articulation people are getting these days. Their 6" lift spring has 10" of travel, and since the valving isn't specified, you can't even use their recommendations to pick a 5125 with more travel.

I think 255/70 is standard for full size, but I'm a little unclear on whether you want the same valving front and rear.

Those are the 14" travel 5125 they work well. The 52's I have up front are almost too soft

Interesting. That number doesn't show up in the catalog, but amazon has it. The number (BE5-6250-H5) resembles 33-062501, which is a 14" 5125. The latter is a 298/36, which is interesting. I wonder if the soft compression (2nd number) is a good fit with soft springs.

They soak up the bumps a heck of a lot better than my old procomp 15" travels.
