will get more come Tuesday at pc. need some more seat time.

also gonna look into either a cable shift linkage or hydro. system cuz this manual linkage is getting old but that'll probably come after body bushings

yea one has an leak at the oring and the other i havent taken apart to look into as I just got it driving again and dont want to bring myself to tear it back down :haha:

And my list as it stands if:
1. get new body bushings!
2. twin stick the 205 (should fix the shifting problem I have while Im there)
3. Relocate shocks. I want o do ford shock towers up front and idk yet for outback
4. rust repair and sliders
5. finish cage in time for summer

there's more stuff like a front locker and better tires but that'll have to wait till I get the above mentioned stuff done.

decided to get my xj shaft in since i wasnt doing anything imprtant today.

boy what i thought was gonna be a 15 min job turned into a cluster F***

apparently xj shafts arent as easy of a mod on 67-72s as they are on later models due to the difference of the steering column end shaft being splined.
easy fix tho. I found Makovai's post from a few years back and Ill be taking care of that and 2 leaking tires on my lunch tm.

My xj shaft didnt fit on my column either. I crawled in there with the angle grinder and had to grind a bunch of the shaft down, as well as grind a big groove for the bolt to slide through.

yea I thought about doing that but opted to splice the two shafts together so i didnt have to modify the column.

more work i can do outta the truck the better for me i guess.

only part Im debating on is whether to splice the old pivot portion of the original shaft onto the xj shaft or cut the splined portion of like Macovai did and make it a press fit into the xj shaft.

option 1 would be easy for me since I hace the tools to do it.
option 2 requires that I go to a buddysfab shop and use it mill cuz ill want it to be as close to perfect as possible.
