For some reason I really like that picture. :waytogo:

Don't forget to plug any of those unused vacuum ports in that back of that intake or you'll be scratching your head.

About those. I saw them, told myself to plug them before putting on the throttle body, put on the throttle body, realized my mistake, and then my pride kicked in and I did them without taking the throttle body off which was an absolute pain in the rear.

That is likely a scenario where afterward you thought it would of been faster to take the TB back off.

BTW, are those carb studs too short? I can't quite tell what's going on there...

They do look short. It doesn't appear to have any stud showing in the nut

They are a bit short. Need about an 1/8” to be flush with the top of the nut. Probably just back the stud out a bit and be good.

Put this together. Anyone know of submersible heat shrink so I can connect the pump?

Tried to put in a 4l80 dipstick into my 4l80 and of course I need about a half inch body lift to clear the bend and stick it in the transmission.

Also installed the speed sensors in to the transmission and got the throttle cable bracket. Need to make a hardware run for some bolts for that stuff.

Got my sending unit finished up. Used some chemical resistant heat shrink on the fuel pump connection thanks to @folkenheath. Tank is now assembled. Need to order up a fuel filler neck, overflow hose, neoprene liners for tank straps, and a door to cut into the rear end for access and I’ll get that installed.

I did something I’ll probably get flack for but I did my research and am comfortable. I found some fuel line from a company called Evil Energy on Amazon. They are an import tuner. But 20’ of -8 PTFE with a selection of fittings was a $110 and -6 was $89. Came with the fitting install tool and well written instructions on how to install the fittings. Going to start plumbing this thing over the next few weeks. 313A7696-E4F7-4D81-87B3-3603F58F2CFE.jpegD96EF519-B2C0-4F1A-B065-E10609617229.jpeg7AE62CF9-FF58-49FB-911C-2B6CA24E8C10.jpeg

Is there a half like button? ;) I like half your post with the chemical shrink tubing on the soldered joints for the fuel pump. :waytogo:

Can't say I recommend skimping on fuel lines though, then again I don't recommend skimping almost anywhere so I hope that works good for you. It's definitely a lot cheaper than US made AN stuff no doubt there. And the big mail order places sell Chinese fittings all the time. I think they are more finicky to assemble and harder to reuse, but hopefully work fine once assembled correctly....

We'll see. I spent close to a decade playing with imports so lots of chinese parts and I've only been burned once on a set of headers for my 350z that had the bolt holes drilled wrong. Simple trip to a machinist and it was fixed. So I'm comfortable rolling the dice.

I think you're smart and alert enough if it ever leaks you'll catch it before it causes a problem, so I am not too worried either.
