Black Betty, Rock Crawlin Trail Truck Build !!!FOR SALE!!

Looking at the pics of the lines, they don't look like they will be long enough when you flex.

Especially when I get the 52" springs up front. And I talked to Stephen at ORD personaly about it and he assured me over the phone they will be fine. Said the people running the coilover kit have no problem. I think he might be a little out of touch with the amount of flex people are getting out of these springs. I do have the drop brackets on the frame if you look close though, but that would mean making new hardlines or extensions. Only time will tell.

Been a while since an update but Im waiting on something to finish the 52 swap. I did rebuild the M12000 this week though. It was ROUGH!

How much $$$? What are the specs on it? Who did the cv, just the cv not the whole shaft, come from? Are there any markings on it, the cv, so you can tell what brand it is?

I want to build a 1350 cv shaft and don't know where to buy the parts.

Thanks,
Mike

The CV is a 1350 spicer. I got the whole shaft from Carolina Driveline. Basically told him I wanted a 1350 CV that could take a beating and this is what he made. I htink it was about 350 but I can't rememeber. ArizonaDriveline is a good place to get individual driveshaft parts.

Lot's of guys here have AZ driveline horror stories. Tube wall not being what was paid for etc etc.

Rene

I'll let the pics talk. We had some issues on the first attmept but Kert took care of it. Gonna have to make some mods for the winch to fit but thats gonna go on the back burner. I like to call it the A-Bomb.

The plan is to drive the truck from the front yard to the backyard and back into the garage. Heres what I'd like to get done.

2) Complete the 52 swap up front (good bit of work)
3) Paint and install new A BOMB bumper from diy4x
4) Cut perches off 14 bolt and tac in new ones to get proper pinon angle
5) Hook up rear driveshaft and yokes
6) Hook up 205 shifter
7) Install B&M shifter for th400
8) weld diy4x shock tabs on D60.
9) remove front bumpstops
10) modify the fordf250 towers to clear steering and mock up towers
11) adjust choke/idle on carb
12) try to get brakes working better (swap out master cylinder)
13) Drive that biatch in the back yard with no seats.

Yall cross your fingers for me.

My weekend just started. Thurs. 1pm till tues.7am. Looooooooooooong weekend. Hope you get the same. Awesome build. I'm subscribed!

When you rebuilt the winch did you replace the brushes? At least one of the brushes is shot in the pic, that is why I am asking.

No I didn't replace the brushes and that brush is fine. its close to the outter case of the motor. And if you look close its stuck back in the guide and you can see the wire is pushed up against the case. That brush was just as long as all the others.

good luck on all the work,
we get our lift gate motors rebuilt here locally 50 bucks one year warranty for the future same style as the winch motor.it is a independent shop but they do the rebuilds for kragen so on they only do altenators, a/c pumps, starters.

I'm still lovin' the "A" bomb. Unfortunately I may have to wait a bit longer before I order one. I did talk with Kert though and he answered all my questions I had about it. It's just not in the budget right now.

Quick question...In post #127, the Bowtie with the hot little pinup on it, where'd ya get that?

When I wasy poly'n the top of that workbench I really wanted to put a graphic under it and was leaning towards a big bowtie but couldnt find one local and didn't wanna wait for mail order. So I got that at autozone or advanced auto. Theres about a bijillion coats of poly on top of that sicker.

Oh so it's embedded in your workbench, gotcha. It sorta gives off a 3D look, I thought maybe it was for a grill or something.

Well, I've gotten a lot of work done but just posting this up to vent a little bit... Went to back it outa the garage for the first time and it took some serious revs for the th400 to move. Took even more revs to get it to move forward. Drove it about 25 feet total and she aint movin...

I think the tranny is shot.

Not sure what to say or do right now but there is definetly no wind in my sails right now...

Here's what i've gotten done so far. Brakes also seem to be locking up good even though the pedal is so soft.
