Black Grille

cool...

I was supposed to go to eglin for tech school a few years ago. But i decided to quit that job so they gave me another one and then they decided to give me ANOTHER one. So how is it there? Does it rain a lot? I leave here next july and i cant stand the rain. I just slid through an intersection this morining in front of a bus. I didnt get hit but im gonna have to start being more careful if i want this car to be around any longer. I want to take it back with me. I know so much more can be done with it. Theres a lot of little things i need fixed but i need the parts. The window guides for the driver side window just broke last night. and the guy i bought it from broke the handle out of the back and now i dont know what i need. The lack of american cars in the junkyard makes it hard to fix this. Where else have you been? I cant wait to leave here. Maybe back to california but they dont have any southern california bases anymore. I miss the sun...

It rains just about everyday over here and is very very humid. This is my first base and I went to tech school at shepard in Wichita Falls, TX and hated every moment at that place. So you're from So Cal huh, me too, from Long Beach.

Opinions

OK So with all of the opinions I decided to go with silver:eek1: what do you guys think,:D I think it came out really good:cool1: honest opinions now:saweet: :k5: Trucks a bit dirty but you know how that goes:D

yea. when did you go there? I was there in early 05. Im from around palmdale. Middle of nowhere. Im thinking maybe vandenberg. But i want to stay overseas. when do you leave there?

I got here June 1st of this year, I used to ride my dirt bike in Palmdale. I leave here in probably about 2 years I think

that's weird. Its a small world. I thought i wanted to go to florida. But i dont know. It seems like an east coast california. I got a camaro back home. I FOUND this car kinda. This car is kinda big compared to the other cars here but i dont know if it'll be anything special in the states. I know i could sell it for a lot more than i could in the states. it'll probably sell for like 3 here but in the states i would maybe get a grand. I dont know what i wanna do. I just know your blazer would run mine over. I want something bigger. And maybe older. I dont like new plastic cars...

I want to...

The thing is where am i gonna get one? i gotta get back to the states first. I might just try to sell it here. Ive seen these blazers in the states for 500 dollars before. So i guess 3 grand wouldnt be bad. I might try to sell it pretty soon. Its becoming a money pit. I gotta do the brakes no matter what. I want to have something to drive for a few more months. At least till it stops raining. I leave in july so i gotta decide a few months before then. I just dont want to be without a car. So what year is yours? how much did you pay for it? One of my friends has an orange one. its a beast. Its so nice. I dont know a lot about them. I wanna get something i can lift. This blazer is pretty much pointless. i wanna smash cars if i hit them. I dont wanna get smashed too. Apparently its already happened here with this one. The guy i bought it from hit a prelude. They couldnt drive away from it but he just backed up and bent some metal and that was it...

If I was you I would keep it until your almost ready to PCS and sell it there if you can get 3G's for it there and then buy a full size over here in the states. Mine is an 86 and I picked up for 3G's actually about a little over 3 years ago, but it was bone stock when I bought it. I did everything to it.

Was it nice though? What was wrong with it when you got it? Apparently mine has an oil leak. Im making an extra 2 hundred dollars over here so i want to stay overseas. i got a year for my dad to find me one back home. Then i could get it shipped wherever i go next. the thing is i need somebody who can do all that stuff to it. Im pretty much learning everything on my own. I dont know very much about this...

There is one forum user from Madagascar (!), and he found a nice K5 diesel for sale at the US Embassy. It was a government vehicle, and thus very well-maintained, primo sheetmetal and so forth.

It was decent, I did put a new jasper motor in it though last year. What was wrong with it, it was all stock so since the motor I have put headers, catback exhaust, MSD wires, getting a new carb from Jet Performance shortly and hopefully a new intake manifold. I got it lifted after I bought it and did all the other stuff here recently. The only thing I leak is transfer case fluid when it sits overnight but nothing severe since I drove from Cali. And since I've been here I've driven to Indiana, to tennessee to florida and a couple of more trips to tennessee and back. The things that tend to need fixing are the things that are just old and need to be replaced mostly. And best of all I still pass California emissions as I only use 50 state legal parts

If you're lucky, whichever AFB you wind up at will have a good hobby shop, a place frequented by everyone from people struggling with doing their first oil change, all the way to born-with-wrench-in-hand farm boys that rebuild diesel engines and truck transmissions as a form of relaxation (light trucks were probably like a warm-up for working on their pop's Case STX530). Make friends with guys like that.

grill looks good!

yeah, well minus all the chit chat going on in your thread, here's an actual post that means something (no offense, but thats why there is a private message feature on this site) Your grille looks good, better than factory. Right on man.

Second picture is almost up to date. I've since painted the main section of the grill, but i left the center strip of chrome to make everything stand out more. .leaving the outer chrome trim draws more attension to the black also, atleast i think, then the emblem really pops at you. My own opinion though.

Man I though you stole my truck for a minute.

but my ProComp sticker isn't as big. :haha:

I can't add anything that hasn't already been said. I vote for painting it.
