Well I have spray-on bedliner in my blazer now but its way too loud in there. I was leaning towards one of those polyvinyl floor mats from LMC but I don't think it will be comfortable enough for DD duty and camping (gets cold here in the winter).

My interior is red and I've read that the red LMC carpets are "too" red (i.e. Macdonald's red) and it doesn't match the rest of the interior. So I'm now leaning towards a black carpet kit. Only drawback is it likes to show dirt..

My questions are: how well do the LMC carpets fit? How long do they last if you take care of them? Quality? Fitment? etc.

I still have the old red carpet actually the rear is in not too bad of shape, just smells 20 years old. The front is worn out and faded though.

Also, I want to sound proof the interior a little better, but I don't want to put any adhesive on the floor. I thought that with dynamat and other brands you have to glue them down.. but I'd like to be able to remove the carpet to use the bedliner'd floor when I need to. Any suggestions? thanks guys

I don't know about the LMC carpets but I bought carpet from these guys http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/ when it came its actually ACC carpet so good stuff.

If you want to sound deaden some get carpet with the mass backing. That way if you pull your carpet out it comes out with the carpet.

I have plans on my next blazer build to put some snaps or something down on the floor to hold the carpet down so I can pull it easily.

This is where I ordered mine from and the fitment and color was great. You can actually order OEM colors and it shows samples to make sure you know what your getting. I ordered the full set, but you can also just get the front passenger area. I added the Mass Backing to mine to help with noise and heat. Im happy with it and its cheaper than LMC. I ordered on Sunday night and it was at my house on Thursday.

Roof peel and stick is the same thing as dynamat, you can just get it at lowes but it is adhesive.

I wonder if you could clean up the underside of the cab and put it there?

thanks for the links. I think this is probably the way that I will go. Now I just have to decide whether I will stay with the burgundy carpet or switch to black.

I have plans to upgrade the interior a bit. I might go for a two-tone black and red interior.

This is the interior I have now:

On the auto interior website they call it Oxblood

Here is where some of my inspiration is coming from. I know its a grey interior but maybe I can pull it off with a two-tone red/black look

I have a saddle interior truck and the LMC carpet kit fit great and the color was spot on (which is hard to match aftermarket).

I did Dynamat on the floor up past the wheel wells, on the dash, the doors, and the roof. Dynamat makes a huge difference but I did use almost 4 bulk packs. Best price is on Amazon ($135/box).

I think that this brand is one of the good brands that you can have to fix up your vehicle's interior. It can really make some difference if you would be able to really make things right with this one. Hope that all is well by now as you are finding that part.

I would get a carpet kit from Classic Parts, they are a retailer for ACC. Some guys have not liked their carpet from LMC. As for not using adhesive, I would think it will be hard to do a nice carpet install without using adhesive to hold it properly. I used a ton of glue when I put extra padding down, and some when installing the carpet over the padding.

I have red interior with Black carpet. I got the carpet on ebay- pre cut, fits like a glove. Just make sure you specify with or without the hump

I have the hurculiner roll on bedliner
Quick roof tar sheets on top of that - also inside the doors ( like Dynamat, but much cheaper)
followed by the carpet with the juke padding underneth.

does real nice for sound proofing...

I got mine from StockInteriors.com which also sends you ACC. Call up ACC directly and get a handful of their "red samples". When you recieve them, unscrew the door sill trim piece to expose the carpets "less faded" area. This was the area from my factory carpet that I matched my sample to.

Once you get the correct match, call up Classic Parts or Stock Interiors and tell them you want "ACC color XXXX". They you will get the exact carpet in the exact color, but for WAY less than what ACC will charge you. Strange but true. I called ACC to ask for a price match....they said no. So I ordered from SI and the box arrived in an ACC box. :dunno: Go figure (and saved a few hundred dollars!)

I also had a bare, rhino lined cargo area. I got the mass backing and it does really help.....just thicker to handle.

I did the everything in front of the back seats - not in the very back part of the K5. I also did the inside of my doors. I think I used 3 or 4 rolls...

I ended up buying mine from ACC a long time ago. If I had've known what Jeff said about stockinteriors.com, i'd've probably gone that route. I think he did his write up a week after I bought the ACC carpet! :doah:

I think I paid over $600 with shipping
