So Lake Tahoe (Rubicon), CA
We have a good customer and friend Tony, wanted us to build a Custom Suburban for his house in Baja Mexico. He wants to drive it down to Baja and play with it in the sand, rocks, trails around his house. So here is what he wants. Off course built with BOR custom built goodies and a slew of products from many of our great suppliers and manufacturers.
The donor truck started life off as a 82’ Suburban Red and Tan. Dead Diesel, TH400, NP208, D70 R, D44 F ¾” ton 8 lug. Power windows,AC, rear AC, nice interior…..Blown motor!
Specs:
Convertible, cut top and cap
TPI or Carb Crate 383 dressed
New TH-400 Summit?
Rebuilt stock NP205?
14 Bolt rear 4.10 gear w/ Detroit
Disk Brake rear – Ruff Stuff brackets –
Rebuilt w/ new bearings, seals, brakes, hard lines, chevette hoses
D44 front with 4.10 gears left open
High steer steering kit (parts mike)with new Knuckle, arms, links and ends
Brakes, bearings, seals, ball joints etc.

I having been thinking the same top cut do you know how much it weighed before and after or aproximate of top weight.

Great! Another focking thread where my work's fire wall won't let me see the pics of a build that sounds awsome.
 
Very cool!! :bow::bow: Can't wait to see more!! I'm guessing the tube laying in the back with bushings in the ends is a spare tire carrier.?
 
are you going to tie the 'B' pillar into the cage for more strength at the seat belt retractor? I have been looking for an old 'burb to build like that for a family wagon. Looks great!
