Blazer bash 2008 MOAB!!

It looks like the date has been set for the 19th-21st. If I take vacation from the 17th-24th, That should allow for plenty of driving time, in case I have a problem. I don't know if I can push the ole Dodge for 20 hours straight. I will be putting in my vacation request on Monday for this.

I will not be changing my mind or backing out. I am going. I will be there unless I lose my job between now and then. I don't see that happening.

Looks like $350 in fuel each way and 19 hours of driving time.

Same things applies for me. Im going unless i loose my job.

My cousin runs a hotshot company and he made the drive a few weeks ago to Utah, he told me it was about a grand in gas for him.

I can make the drive straight as my best friend will be riding with me, he can take over if need be. But 15 hours is about max for me in one day.

Im gonna start searchin around for a place to rent a trailer. I think ill be able to afford a trailer between now and then, but i want to be 100% possitive i can before i make the jump.

Lodging is generally up to the individuals. Most people camp at the Slickrock Campground or stay in Motel 6. They are right next to each other. There are also several other hotels and a few more campgrounds around.

I don't know how far out reservations can be made at Slickrock, but I know people tend to do it pretty far in advance.

I will probably reserve a room, but I may end up sleeping in the truck.:D

Hmmmm, I wonder if there are any nicer hotels in the area. I'd love to mess up a purdy room.

We stayed at Moab Valley Inn in '05, and it's quite nice. They have a pool even.

The Motel 6 is pretty close to the north edge of town. I'm not sure there's a hotel any further north, for that matter.

You have to drive through most of the town to get too some of the trails. Hotels are nice cuz of the A/C and the showers and a comfortable bed :D

Last year I booked La Quinta the day before we went it was about $20 more but worth it I think.

showed 4 different types of rooms at 109.99 a night. I put in Sept 19 thru 22. So they have some available.

Now thinking much cheaper at slickrock. I can live with the public showers.

Reservation for a cabin at slickrock made.

See ya there!!!!!!!!!!!
