Blazer bash 2008 MOAB!!

Talking about insurance for BB and the costs involved in running the event.
I said I'd be part of the ORD bash so as to reduce the number of people signed up for the bash so we can stay under the 50 truck mark. Steve said good.
Not sure which way he ment it though. 49 BB trucks/ 49 ORD trucks = no permit/insurance. It might not work though and is not my call what so ever.

So as long as the event stays under 50 trucks it in theory costs less, makes sense sort of but not really. I was thinking that it was a infighting issue.

I ride a Desert ride from La to Barstow to Vegas every year in Cal. The price has doubled due to the permits and insurance for 500 miles through 2 states. I do not blame the BLM reps. Its there bosses, the officials the eviro's have voted in. The Center for Biologic Diversity has sued to get their people on the boards making these decisions. The are trying to permit and fee us out of going off roading. And don't get me started on the fuel issue.

hey ktm no thanks on the seat sounds like fun but some kids from school are planing a 4x4 trip around that time so i will go to that instead thanks though

Watch the CORE thread in our local area section. Should be some cool pictures coming up. I was out jumping the Jimmy, giving rides, until I destroyed the 208. This is what you will be missing.

So Brandon, what's up with you and motel ?
Did they kick you out last year and I missed something??

For the prices they charge and the hassles I get with reservations I just want to stay some place that has a TV remote for every room, has floors that are relatively clean etc.
I just had enough last year with a child and wife and not great service.

If Patti and Bryce come I will stay in the Moab Valley inn. If they don't I will claim a spot with the Death train:yikes::1zhelp:.

I am selling my truck and I am not going. I have the reservation for the cabin at slickrock, if anyone needs it.

Yes. I really hate it. I have just spent a ton of money on stuff for the trip. I have to take care of some things though. Have fun.

Got my Cabin @ SlickRock yeah me. Have a good summer men and weman's. Be safe have fun and build, for it will be here before you know it.

Jason’s Plaques arrived yesterday as scheduled and they are perfect and we are very happy with them (pictures from Moab to follow). I went out last night and purchased everything I could imagine we would need to install the Moab plaque on a rock face. Brought it all home in 5 Lowe’s bags. Today I was looking at all the crap I bought and Willyswanter’s Mom walked by and said “There’s a canvas tool bag in Jason’s apartment; why don’t you put all of it in there, it will be easier to carry”. Once again I thought (to myself) she’s crazy, all this won’t fit. But as a good husband wanting to prove her wrong, I went to J’s place and found the bag which was full of broken electrical parts; must be his trash bag from his trouble shooting jobs. I cleaned it and set down next to my 5 full bags of crap and started loading it and you guessed it, it all fit perfectly and exactly, no extra room. Then; just as I told her it all fit, “Spirit In The Sky” started playing on the radio like it was planned; Willyswanter’s Mom just turned towards me and smiled. No more words were spoken, I just went out side to be alone - again.
