Blazer Bash 2013

Where to stay?

Any suggestions on where to stay while attending Blazer Bash?
Don't want to be too far from other CK5 members if at all possible.

I assume it should be booked in the new year to guarantee a place.?

Tented in the desert for most of our previous Moab trip.

Thanks ssyork for the suggestion about trailering 1 ride down.
My wife likes the idea of riding together instead of separate trucks, for the highway part of the trip, so there is a good chance a trailer is in my near future. :waytogo:

I have stayed at the Archway Inn for the last five years. No place in Moab is far a lot of people do the camping thing, some do the cabin thing, some stay at Motel 6. It is kind of what ever is your preference. I like air conditioning a pool and breakfast so I do the hotel thing.

AC Pool and breakfast sounds like a good plan.
We would prefer to avoid hauling all the camping gear so there is more trail and socializing time....

I was all stoked and ready to plan. Now I'm not so it will have to be 2014 for me. Due dates gone keep us home.

Geeze, I would love to make it but I don't think I'll have the K30 geared by then. 40's on the 3.73's probably wont do too well...

I really hope to make it out i havnt had my truck to moab and would be nice to go with a group of full size rigs.

Yea, good for fuel economy I guess. Well I guess as good as a BB will do . Half tempted to do it for grins tho. 380 miles from my door.

Go. Run in 4 low and do the scenic trails. It would be fine. And worth the drive.

I ran my blazer on a stock TBI 350 with 38's and 3.73's for a long time. I always did fine in 4low and sometimes with a bit of momentum. Like he said, even the scenic trails would still make a good trip. Just to meet and hang with some of the other CK5'ers would be worth it. I'm hoping to make my first BB trip this year too.

Thanks guys, maybe it's doable then... I was considering doing the 203/205 doubler this summer anyway. That way I would have the best possible big block fuel mileage out of this pig.

vehicle requirments

Hi I was curious about whether or not my truck needs to be street legal or not? it is registered as OHV so it would be trailered to and from the trail.

No it does not, mine isn't and I drive it around town and to and from the trails.

They may harass you if you do but I dont think anybody has ever got a ticket at BB.

No ticket, but Zim and I did get pulled over and warned in my Blazer this year.

Norby and I have been pulled over the Monday after the bb heading towards hells revenge. Just told to load them up.
But we have driven around more since with no problems

Last one I went to was in '03!!!! 10 years ago WOAH!!!! So much has happened since then. I might have to seriously concider this...
