So the plan is for us to leave Thursday morning and get to the Glenwood/New Castle area to stop for the night. Then Friday we are going to take our time and see some things on the way to Moab. Wheel Saturday, and then split off to see the touristy type things. The wife did state that she didn't want to see the stuff that is packed with tourists, so maybe some input from you local guys as to what we should see.

What time does that happen? The plan was to be there late afternoon/early evening.
I think it was 5 or 6pm last year. Definitely want to make it to the BBQ.

The best way to see Moab is to go wheeling. The tourists don't, everything you can see in the touristy spots you can see wheeling. Some you cant even see unless you are wheeling, aka dino footprints on Hells Revenge.
BBQ is officially at 6pm.
