I carry an extra brake cage bolt. Never needed, thank goodness. Always needed them in the towing game. I hate getting under those ratty trucks to cage and then release them.
He mentioned that if he couldn't figure it out he was going to cage them. The problem was we were getting brake air but not suspension air.Glad that you are not on the side of the road anymore.
Just for future reference, the tow truck driver should have known and been able to cage the brake cans. The bolts are usually in a hanger on the side or end of the can. Then they could have only been concerned about the suspension.
Caging the brake cans must be remembered and undone when a parking brake is needed later, as in when they unhook. This also works if you lose a diaphragm in the park brake side of the can, and then the air line to emergency side of the can can be blocked to stop the air leak.
I did that a lot more when I was younger, but since I turned 40 and especially now that I'm 50 it was a lot harder...I’ve been getting by on ~1.5hrs a day for months, but it not effecting my chicken soup of meow not a bit

Dang I hate that. Stuff that’s otherwise completely within your wheelhouse is missedomg....
you know when you're sleep deprived/stressed/sitting on the side of the road dying in the heat how you forget to check simple things like the breaker on the generator itself....
Yea that happened.
So much sweating for no reason.
Now I've got to see if I can replace the romex that got stripped by the tire or if that's a "we don't really need the washer/dryer/bathroom outlet" thing.
Glad to hear that it looks like you an Amber will be able to make it.
Pushed it back on and got to my buddys house. On the way home was dropping fuel pressure and was running out of gasWhen we bought the 4 tires at Love's, they told us that the one by our house also had 3, we got up early and ran over there this morning but somehow between when we stopped there yesterday and now, they don't have any. Pretty sure the guy working was just being lazy, or was an idiot because the guy up north said they had 3 and when we stopped there yesterday they told us they had them... We're trying to find another source now.Don't forget 2 more tires in the front. Safer travels, and enjoy.
