Blazer Bash 2021 not Last Minute Thrash

Working on the Blazer today, found a problem, that could have made for a bad day at Blazer Bash. Would much rather find it in my shop, instead of on the trail!!

Please tell me you are not installing lift springs!!

Mine runs and drives, need to bolt down a few things rebuild the tcase then it's maintenance items.

Had to rebuild my alternator on the Blazer this morning. Another unexpected last minute thrash. There again, glad it did it before Blazer Bash.

Seems like that one didn't quite make a decade of service, from my memory.

But at least you are experienced with those things! :D

I have a guy here who complains abou his motorhome killing alternators. Lets it sit with no maintenance for the batteries. Jump sarts it and lets the alternator charge all 4 batteries. I tried explaining that alternators are maintainers, not chargers. He told me I did not know what I was talking about.

Sounds like mr. Rv guy needs a couple hundred watts of solar on the roof to keep his batteries topped off when he's not using it.

Or just pop the disconnects when he parks it so there's no parasitic loss.

True. I'm just happy I don't deal with RV's at the shop anymore. Attitude from customers like what Wade had sours the process. They think they know the system yet don't believe the guy that's been dealing with the stuff for decades.

Yes, didn't make it ten years, but probably only jump started a hundred cars. LOL
You could have the builder discuss things with the vehicle owner!
:haha:

But don't let anyone catch you arguing with yourself!
Ehh, it's 2021, no one will care.. new normal...

After our thrash this weekend, the S-10 is ready! Time to start looking over the RV.

Saturday's thrash included such important items as replacing the A/C compressor, dryer/accumulator, expansion orifice and doing a full flush (harder than it sounds...) then we installed this funny looking fire extinguisher in the bed.

New shoes went on the trailer. Old ones were 8.5 years old. Hecked bearings. Replaced the emergency brake battery and fixed a wire that I didn't know was bad. Trailer is done.

Almost got the front housing on the Jimmy finished. That will be done tomorrow. Then I will pull the transfer case to find the leak.
