Blazer Bash 2022 It's TOO late for Last Minute Thrash

Got my tcase shifter in and vss worked and actually shifted the trans in 4 low… went back to 2wd and the cable hit the header and split the sleeve so now it doesn’t have the range of motion.

Anyone have some quick ghetto fixes? :doah:

I had similar issues with the blazer's transmission shifter cable. Get it as far away from the exhaust as possible and use tons of heat wrap. You'll also need a new cable.

Yea, once the outer layer melts the cable has no support and won't function properly. In a pinch I had wrapped it and ziptied it to hold it together somewhat, but a push pull cable like that anywhere near the exhaust will fail quickly.

You can also try to make some sort of metal heat shield between the exhaust and cable when you replace it, that will help drastically.

I have a old dip stick tube I’m going to route it In and bolt to the trans. I can’t come up with a way to mount it and route the cable how JB wants it.

Electric push button sounds nice right now.

You just started? I have been for awhile.
My list is relatively short this year. The biggest thing I need to accomplish is getting my hydro assist installed. I've got all the parts ready to go. The other main thing is to figure out a better gas tank vent. Otherwise it's maintenance stuff, and round up a few spare parts.

My biggest test was the 350 mile road trip but the rear suspension hasn’t been fully tested. But everything cycles fine and a nut and bolt check it’s good.

I need to run the heavier power cable to the camper to keep the fridge happy. Other than that I just need to change the oil and rotate the tires to be ready to drive out, wheel and drive back.

I still need to fill my nitrous tank...

Of course if I want to bring both trucks then my list is longer.
