Blazer Bash 2025 Karnage

Apparently, @AgDieseler and the thursday crew are broke somewhere. Saw @kennyw in town on his way back out with parts. I guess they dont have cell signal because nobody has posted anything.
Well that's part of the deal.
I rarely went on a trail where no one broke something. It's not fun right there but the stories later after you make it out are priceless

We were hanging at Dave’s shop watching The Circus fix Scott’s front axle. I gather that group 2 on Kane’s had the actual drama, and is currently shopping for 10 bolt shafts.

We split up into two groups to run Kane Creek. I hung up my 14FF that isn't shaved yet multiple times, rubbed my driveshaft on the last big obstacle coming out, and broke a tailgate latch and headlight adjuster due to the body twist. I now have a major vibration over 50 mph vs a minor one between 55-60 and my steering wheel is no longer centered, but it still drives straight with no pull.

@mrk5 broke an inner axle and was able to repair it back in town. @Fastereddie passed me running out there with my food rather than parts to watch the Colorado crew work.

The second group, one of the first Gen blazers lost ignition with a Proflow setup. He turned around at the first squeeze, towed out, and made it back to camp. Someone else lost a 10 bolt rear axle shaft later up the trail. That group wasn't back yet when I looked at 8pm.

I developed a major vibration on the way out of poison spider, found the rear output flange was loose, took off the rear driveshaft and hit it with the impact, took care of that.

Now my transmission is another story, reverse works well, gotta give it some gas to get it in gear then it only kind of works. Thought I might have to winch it onto the trailer.

Upgrades are in the future!

Friday I broke the front long side axle shaft u-joint pulling into the parking lot on Hells. We had been hearing a rotational scraping sound earlier but couldn't locate where it was coming from. Fixed with some help and drove to the BBQ.
