Blazer Bash 2025

I will say after spending a few days wheeling in sand hollow, it is a great spot but it's no Moab.

Pretty sure it's the weekend of the 6/7 and I can say well in advance I won't be there next year.

We are 100% coming back to Moab next year, I'm not sure yet if it will be with BB or with fullsize invasion.

Not sure it won't be Our event is small enough, we don't need the county counsel approval anymore.
The coordinator we were working with, had her reserve duty at a bad time for us. Plus our insurance company jammed us up at the last minute.

We Do Need a new insurance company

Does the county have different number of participant requirements than the BLM? It just takes 25 people to trigger the BLM permit.

I think so Rob was explaining it to me and said we don't meet the requirements for counsel approval.

Counsel approval is needed for a large event. More than 150 people or 100 vehicles if memory serves me correct. The first year I dealt with them, we were new to them. So had to go gheough the whole deal. The permit is required for any group over 25. Even the Hasidic Jews having there 30 people event needed the $900 permit.

County is 50 or more from what I just read. 250 people or less

These are the exceptions not needing a permit

  1. Non-commercial, non-competitive family, friends, or youth events such as weddings, family reunions, dances, parties, or garage sales with less than 250 Daily Total Attendance or 50 Motor Vehicles
  2. Conferences, trainings, lectures, sporting events, or similar events held in a permitted permanent facility consistent with the facility's occupancy and design standards
  3. Community events owned or sponsored by resolution by the County at a County-owned facility

But

Special Events include (but are not limited to) events where entrance/participant fees are charged or suggested or other compensation is exchanged, retail sales are conducted or vendors offer goods or services, trail rides are regulated by a commercial, organized group/event, or competitive SRP (or similar) issued by the state or federal government are organized; races; concerts; or a public assembly, such as a parade, rally, or celebration.

So Blazer Bash will now be capped at 25? The first 25 to register get in or maybe a raffle system? Make it an exclusive event.
