“Blazer what / Jimmy what spotted???” – go back .here. for a long explanation, and see also .blazerchalet.com..

Meanwhile, I found this photo at .4x4ventures.com. it’s a slow-loading photo intensive web site, don’t for certain know if it is a car sales place, can’t find any more contac?t info for the site owner, he hasn’t answered an email….. anybody seen it in person? Distinctive features are the burnt orange wheels (not common for ‘76s) and maybe the little sticker at the top of the windshield, plus the license plate.

...get that guy a gallon of o.d. green...
Puh-lease! Maintain the original colors for the purists!. Or, if you install a 2nd set of smaller dia headlights in the grille, you may paint it any color you wish.

Speaking of which, anybody seen a two-tone maroon (?) Chalet in the vicinity of Tishominga, Oklahoma? Photo below came from a tiny thumbnail out of a google image search, an expired link from http://www.tishchevy.com/ Distinguishing features are the colors, aftermarket wheels and chrome fender flares/trim.

That maroon one is kind of sexy!:eek1::D :haha: I want to get one eventually. There was one near my mothers place up in Aurora awhile ago. I saw it in the backyard collecting leaves and dust. I was going to ask if the guy if he would sell it, but then the next time I drove by it was gone. :doah: I'll see if I can track it down.:D

Excellent, much appreciated! Bunches more like that around the country just waiting to be spotted & loved...

Meanwhile, here's another - at "dremu" 's brochure & magazine scan site, click on the Treasure Search link http://brochures.slosh.com/index.shtml?chalet Anybody seen the Chalet in that article or know the owner Ken Doe? Most notable features are the Cepek tires, driving lights under the bumper, evap cooler on the roof, black fender flares, and Egyptian icon decorations in the interior. After an extensive google search, I can turn up nothing on the publisher of Treasure Search, Ken Doe or find out anything more about the magazine other than a couple of back issues for sale on eBay. It isn't published anymore (?) According to the article, Ken's primary treasure hunting area was southern California.

Tishminga, IIRC, is a tiny little town in Sounthern OK. No one around here (CK5) porbably seen it. Cool ride to have in a ghetto sence. I'd like to see one in person.

Very likely true. Tishominga is so tiny it doesn't pop up in my google maps search. My next hope is that a location I ask about will also be the same little town where one of you guys' relatives lives, or something like that. Who knows, one of you could recognize a Chalet from these photos being driven or trailered to a place where there is a higher concentrations of ck5.com guys.

Your own area is a bit on the big side, the only one I know about there is a guy who is keeping his '76 Chalet and has been trying to sell his '77 Chalet for over a year now. It's somewhere in the LA area, PM me if you want the phone number.

I only know of one around my area and it could be gone by now. It was on a farm and the barn had toppled over on it and crushed it. I remember seeing it there b4 it got crushed when I was younger. Its been about 4 years since I saw it crushed, and at that time, the collapse of the barn looked recent, so it could be cleaned up and hauled off by now.

........ closed-minded no-topper! Don't knock two tone 'til you've tried it. And put a roof on that thing, you'll catch a cold.
Nice... ;)

I only said that because chalet2506 has his painted that way. If it were mine I'd leave it factory colors too. They look good, even on my truck. :waytogo:

They only time I miss the 2 tone is when I get tanked and lose it in a pasture. The sumbitch is hard to see once the sun goes down.

i Have seen one in south scottsdale a couple times, maybe that one not sure though, also seen one in the east valley but it looks really weathered and it lighter colors.

Craig - I am such a slave to temptation, I couldn't resist messing with your mind a bit:D Green is my favorite color:rolleyes:

Um, I'm only so-so with Photoshop, not sure I could do a florescent orange - see if Craig can do something about that.... the color, not the tanking:wink1:

see '76 Chalet pic below, is it that one in Scottsdale? PM sent for directions.
What was all the color options for the chalet/casa grande's?
Colors: scroll all the way down the page here http://blazerchalet.com/options.html for little drawings of the available colors, those cover what we know so far. Mine is a brown/tan '77, the Casa Grande pic below shows the only combination we know of for '77 CG versions, a bronze/tan '77 Chalet is here (owner just joined our Chalet owners' forum) http://www.singletrack.us/gallery/displayimage.php?album=61&pos=6 and an all-tan really dusty messed up paint '77 chalet is here http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=&nid=443&tab=myads/view&ad=143799 The one in this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=267885 has me stumped because it is listed as a '78, it isn't in a Blazer color combo we've heard about (white accents), and the camper appears to have been repainted / restriped....or has it??? Craig is right about the '76s, all Chalets and Casa Grandes were the same color combo as the '76 below, they just had different stripes on the camper and different logos on the back door.

'76 Chalet - last seen in Phoenix November 2005, distinguishing features are little tires, Chevy logo scratch protectors around the door locks, missing rec vehicle "elec-plumbing-heating certified" oval plate by the back door, and tan colored rear step. I took these pictures but was too dumb at the time to note the serial number. Anybody else seen it?

'77 Casa Grande - cant miss the bumper/winch combo on the front, bigger bumper/platform on the rear. Sold last year near Houston TX, but I've received no contact from the new owner. Anybody in the Houston area seen it?

Might as well throw another of my pics in here - using the "Internet Wayback Machine" http://www.archive.org/web/web.php I dredged up an archived 'for sale' ad out of the 2002 pages of blazerchalet.com. I left a message at the phone number it had, no response yet. It was simply listed as being in the NC area, an area code search narrows it a bit to the sourrounding Winston-Salem area, however there's no assurance this one is anywhere near there now. The features that jump out about this '77 is the large black motorcycle platform in front, white spoke wheels, upper fender arch rust, and odd rear rooftop dark color. Anybody seen it?

my 80 k5 white/w red inside trim, just like that....i think the truck w/ordered solid white and the dealer painted inside of the trim,..red? idk..not sure but its going flat black where it is white and real tree hardwoods hd vinyl inside of trim,..where its red

i just bought a dodge camper ..i wish i could find/own a chalet...b/c..iirc, you can put down posts and drive the blazer out from under the camper,..and camper still had a floor, and you had a cool run- about town/camp vehicle(topless k5)....thats what i like about it!

how do they mount a tire up front like this?

how do they mount a tire up front like this?
I cranked down the contrast in the photo to see, my guess is an aftermarket or home made thing for this one. What was supposed to come from the factory was the option that was occasionally (?) seen on standard Blazers. On several I've seen, it would appear that a previous owner took off the original tire carrier then lost it, and a later owner put on another carrier. Some of the other Chalet owners in our Yahoo forum are having a tough time finding original front tire carriers......
