Thats called a Four Wheel Camper - you can google it they've been around since the 60's and build a pretty decent product.

The Chandler AZ one that "supersize75k5" and "jason4x4" spotted: Serial #714, build date Aug '76, but it has a few odd things about it - supposedly the model change to '77s was when the camper part went to a darker tan and the Blazers / Jimmys were offered in color combos other than the light beige with burnt orange accents. Like this metallic brown / tan (buckskin?) one here. Except I thought I read somewhere that '77s were the only (?) year where the stainless steel side trim was yellow-painted, and the trim on this one is black painted...

Owner wasn't home, so I left a note about mine and our Yahoo Chalet owners' forum.

You are correct about that one. 77 was the only year with the yellow trim. Someone could have replaced it though. You can't buy yellow trim. All I have ever seen is black.

i saw 1 in classifieds here on ck5, iirc, they were giving it away, they wanted someone to come pick it up! it was just the camper part that had been removed and was offering it to anyone who wanted it, before he took it to landfill. that camper will fit in any k5 won't it?

iirc, it was in Washington state, if it wasn't so far away, I'd went and got it, it would be perfect for deer season and unique!...i'll see if i can find the classified and post it here
