Been having motor problwma, turns out it was a hole in the oil pan (temporarily patched with jb weld till i find a new pan) and a spark plug cable being run in the valve cover. Replaced ignition coil and distributor cap as well as all the spark plugs. Ran like a top. Goes through some water like it has before, lost a lot of power again, didn't sound like it was running well. changed all the spark plugs again, old ones were wet with oil or water (couldn't tell) and a TON of carbon build up. Runs better now, but I cleaned an old plug, put it in, started it, then checked it and it was damp. greyish smoke is leaving the exhaust now, as well as some black. I know it isn't the carb. Should I just let it run till the oil or water or whatever burns out? It smells really strong of gas, didnt before. Did this last time due to fuel sitting in the cylinder from bad spark plugs. How do i get it not damp?

Anyone have any ideas? Got a video of it now. The grayish smoke is coming out of both exhausts, so both banks. Looked at the distributor, it seemed fine. Will change the oil soon to see if their is any evidence in there. Also has anyone heard of a [FONT=Arial, Verdana]pertronix ignitor conversion? I was looking at mallory marine distribuors and someone was selling theres becaise they got that ignition conversion. How water tight is it, and is it worth it, ditching HEI?

Also, what is a referal? Like on the boards?
