blazer newbie here, 85 k10, would like any info possible

For Rene, Don't mix up the trim levels over the different years. Scottsdale replaced the Cheyenne as the only mid level by '83 and I think they changed it in '81 w/ the new front clip. I know Chevy had a Custom Delux in '85 and IIRC my neighbor had one in '82. In the late '70s there were 4 trim levels; C/D base, Scottsdale & Cheyenne mid; and the Silverado top. There were a few years in the early '70s that the C/D was just called custom, or maybe some of the trim was missing.

For K/J, I didn't mention the Cheyenne package to you because I think you said you had a mid 80s Blazer. As you have noticed there are some variations over the years and special packages make things even more confusing. But remember things like the "Trailer Special" & "Spirit of '76" (bet they didn't sell many of that one on your side of the pond!) are not trim levels. Last, the GMC trim levels are different and I have only ever owned one GMC, so I'm not much help with those.

One the best sources for all this stuff are the sales brochures. Someone, (Demu?) has uploaded a LOT of them and you could spend a day looking through them.

*EDIT* Its Dermu and he already posted, I read right past the link eariler. BTW, Dermu your archive is incredble. Thanks for keeping it up for all to see.

Pedantic correction: It's "Dremu" and you're right his archive IS incredible.
I've been reading his "Brief History" bit as well and it all fits with what you were posting earlier. Mine is an '83 K5 6.2. Still looking to clarify the trim level/spec name. It's not a Silverado, but it is a really basic fit and so Cheyenne would seem too smart. I tend to go with the Custom Deluxe or as i just re-read an earlier post from Dremu, Cheyenne, which became a low-end level after the 70's so that could be it. Gonna spend more time on Dremus brochure site!
Are the Trailer Special & Spirit of 76 specific model or limited edition models?
I think almost all the Blazers running in this country are legacys from US forces personnell stationed at Air Force bases here, who brought a vehicle over with them and sold it when they went home. So i dont think any were sold new off the showroom floor. After WW2 the car market here was taxed such that American cars were too expensive so that meant local cars were produced again in the factories which had been diverted to making war machinery, planes, tanks etc. Only recently have Jeep re-established a dealer network to sell the Grand Cherokee, Neon, and lately PT Cruiser.
All of a sudden however linked to the relative strenght of £'s v $'s the big dodge Ram pickups have been imported. Firstly by individuals and now there is a whole industry growing up bringing US trucks, mustang, 'Vette and some other stuff. It has to be adapted to meet European Road rules so flashers have to be changed, fog lamps fitted, headlights changed etc. Even some Hummers on the roads!

I thought the Chev trims were Cheyenne, Scottsdale, and Silverado?

Custom, Custom deluxe was GMC. I can't recall for sure but wasn't "Sierra Grande" the top line GMC?

Rene

Custom Deluxe was all Chevy, not GMC.

GMC had Sierra Classic and High Sierra trims along with the Sierra Grande.
