Will a regular tailgate from a pick-up fit a K5?? I wanted to lose my heavy ass tailgate and power window from my 82 K5 and throw on a regular tailgate from a pick up.

The factory glass doors on a K5 are heavy compared to a regular tail gate. I did the swap too.

It sounds like a cool idea to ditch the heavy tailgate and go with a lighter one, but what do you guys do in the winter? Do any of you still use the hardtop? Mine is a daily driver and its nice during the winter to have the top on and back window up.

How much weight lost is Top 250#or more not shure exact,tailgate 100#
maybe not shure always have help taking it off and the top,as for doors

New Mexico at least eddy co it is illegal to take the doors off $285 dollar ticket for saftey equipment not in place so I made half doors and save around 50-75 # but can't tell it though just the stareing of people goes way up.
