Hey guys, I need to put a gasket on the top of my blazer, this is the one that goes on the cab. No idea how the hell it goes, it seems awkward no matter which way I put it .

Am I holding it on correctly in the second photo??

That doesn’t even look like the correct one - where’d you get it?
Second pic is correct. See how it sort of covers the bolt hole in the first pic - chance of the bolt tearing it. And the flat lip is suppose to go under the headliner.

Start at 9:30 in this video:

Thanks guys. I saw that video but it's hard to tell what orientation he's putting it on, he only shows one angle from far away... and he doesn't have any interior panels

I got them from 1A Auto, a forum vendor. The gaskets are Precision brand.

I think you're right, the lip probably tucks under the plastic. Ill go w my 2nd photo. Thanks!!

I’d double check with Tony to make sure they sent the correct one since it looks different from the one in the pic on their site. Maybe they switched vendors and use a different style now. Better to be safe than out $$.

Thanks Rampage, your advice of going under the headliner helped. I had to loosen the plastic panel on the ceiling.

I haven't glued it yet, just test fitted and I think it looks correct

Looks good! :waytogo:
And I’d do as the guy in the video said, glue short sections at a time and you may need to stretch and tape as you go around the corners, but then again it looks fine in the pic from what I can see.

thanks Rampage.

I'm thinking I might not even glue it... the original gasket didn't have any glue on it ( all the other seals had orange glue except for this one)

Your thoughts on not using glue on this one? I think it gets smashed in there pretty good by the topper....

Sounds like they’ve been replaced by a previous owner with the orange glue. IIRC mine has the black weatherstrip sealant as do all my other weatherstripping and I am the original owner ... well, not counting my dad who only had it for 2 yrs.
