Now that I'm home I can give the full list of broken parts for the week. 2 trailer jacks broke when loading up to go. 2 blown trailer tires. One on the way down, 1 on the way back. 2 blown transmissions. first one blew before I ever ran a trail. Swapped in another and it lost everything but 2nd and reverse after a day and a half. split a front brake line. lost one of my bumpstops. bend my rear diff cover enough to cause a substantial leak. It's been a helluva week.
The list sucks and I'm sure your final cost will be staggering (including the eventual trans rebuild) but later on you'll have some great stories to tell. At least you didn't do any damage to BYT.
When I was following you and your diff was hitting the rocks my first thought was he is going to peel the cover off.
His face at the BBQ showed that well. Half disappointed, half I “just wrenched on junk all day at the commune”
Tore pump apart and the shaft was fine. The bushing around the shaft ate it self. And sent trash threw the system causing the pump vains to get hung up and not make psi
