Blazer's 84 Blazer 4wd to 2wd

1984 Chevrolet Blazer
So it has been sitting for over 12 years.
Suppose to run, it does crank, but no start with starting fluid.

Plans you ask ? 2WD is the plan. Frame off build.

I have an abandoned Suburban in my back yard that is going to be the donation vehicle, for all the frame mounts, A-arms, engine, transmission, dash, grill, fenders, hood, door locks, tailgate power motor, rockers, bed floors, and anything else that seems like it needs to be changed or swapped or ???

Immediate plans, get it running so it can move around the back yard. Then park it for a bit. Once the walls and cabinets are finished in the shop it can fit in there. Strip the Suburban to get it out of the yard. Then it would be Blazer time.

Good luck! I'm taking my body off the frame today. Might be wrong here but I was thinking it was easier to go 2wd to 4wd then it was to go 4wd to 2wd, but I could be way off. Should be everything you need to know on the forums. I think the only mount for the body that's different between the two wheel and four wheel drive is the one under the core support for 81-91.

The problem is finding a 2wd Blazer

That is why I am planning on keeping the frame just pulling the mounts for the suspension off of the 89 Suburban that I have, and using those.

So Blazer update. Its in the shop on some dollies, my jack stand dolly idea did not work so I am planning on buying some from Pivotal. It is going to be a lot of work.

Although plans have changed a bit I was going to build it to drive, however after buying the '09 Trail Blazer SS 6.0 with a 6spd auto trans. I have made the decision to build this Blazer then put it up for sale. I have wimped out on modern creature comforts, and speed.

Plus I can build it then sell it then put the funds towards Twinkie, think built motor and full coil overs with doors and windows

Been awhile since I have done an update so here is a update

Been doing a bit of work off and on got the fenders, hood off a bit ago. Seats went to Kenton's so he would have seats for Blazer Bash. He is putting in some PRP's or something else.

Thursday and today got both axles out gave them to my neighbor. He is taking the motor trans and t-case once they are out. Going to shoot for next weekend for those.

Trying to decide if I need to change the front crossmember or will the one that is in it fit the 2wd set up. It looks like it will but may have to wait until I drag it over and really see.
