Been doing some dash work do to not having to much else to do on it. Figure I can get the dash set up and all of the unneeded wires taken out and got rid of. Found the cruse control vacuum line still in it. Only been about 10 years since it had that.
It is all factory. I am going with the brains for the cruise control also because some of the wires went to the other cruise control thing that was attached to the back of the speedometer. It is all out though only had one ground connected the rest were cut long ago.
Amazing how many wires you dont need once you have everything stock out.
Speedo cable gets to come out also.
Going to get some switches and stuff so that i can do a dead switch as well as a reverse light switch.
So my idea to do something on the truck has progressed a bit. Looks like I am building a dash. Only want to build it once so have some figuring out to do.
So got some progress done. Got a piece of steel from a neighbor who has a shop they build custom doors and stuff, it is a piece of a door frame. Seems to fit and work rather well.
Have to drill some holes for gauges and switches and stuff then paint it and call it good then put it back together.
Have to figure out the turn signal blinker light wires as well as the high beam indicator light. Don't really need that with them on it lights up the whole street. Also have to find the gas gauge wire too.
Thought I had all them drilled so I painted it. Started with black but it looked out of place only thing black on the whole truck inside so went with tan. Have a run or two to fix. Then realized that I forgot to drill the indicator holes so have to get those located and drill them out.
Have to figure out how to had mount the GPS then start doing some wiring.
