Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Pics of my free new bump stops got them from my local 4x4 shop who puts to big of lifts on new trucks and owners dont want them.

And a picture iof my really nice interior which I am not sure is staying :pimp:

last a picture of what is left of our wonderful trail fix :thumb:

If you ever get a chance to get more free bump stops i could use 2 sets:D

What would change with the interior?? Other than giving me that dash pad:whistle:

I can probably go get a couple of sets.

The interior I'm not sure on might keep it to put in my one ton but have no idea. Would like to just find a 4x4 3x3 with power already then I wouldn't have to do the swap.

Had a very long and busy day got a few things done

Got the front mounts all the way in have some bolt hole issues on the end of the frame PO cut it off so its a little short might be a pain to do the bumper /winch mount but I will have to see

Got the new motor mounts in and the cross member really nice, motor mount were a pain in the butt.

Got the rear spring mounts and shackles in

next is wire in my welder and clean the Dana 60 a little more then paint it and maybe my other stuff from DIY will be in so I can do some welding. Need to put in the front springs and shock mounts.

Is that the ORD engine cross member?
What did you use to remove the rivets??

I may have to modify mine some what due to the fact that my drive train is tilted up so much for the flat belly I don't think my diy4x motor mounts will just bolt in any more.

Well since you did such a good job on yours  Maybe you could do mine:haha:

Of all the things I have done on that truck the cross member/motor mounts was the worst to do. Not because there were any problems with them the were built great, just built really well, so lining the bolts up was difficult. I think if the motor wasn't in it would have been alot easier also. I have no complaints about them, some slop in the bolt holes would have been nice

If I remember right I just torched out the rivits them cut the cross member in the middle to get it out.

I had the motor held up with a chery picker when I did it.

So have a bit of an update, but no pictures yet, tube doors and dash are on the way and its a full set of tube doors too :eek1:

No doors yet but they will have a custom words on the side :waytogo:

Debating on changing the motor have a very built small block, roller rockers, solid cam, 10.5 comp, victor Jr intake and lots more. Not sure if I want to rebuild the 454 since its a really good mosquito fogger or just put in the small block.

With it soon to be running on propane the compression wont be an issue but switching out all the accesories will. The extra space might be nice but then i have to do a new exhaust and all so really not sure.

I have another 454 for it, its just stock.

I say small block Keith even though your rig is always going to be a pig it will help a ton to get the weight down as much as possible.

I was thinking aluminum heads on the BBC, which would help it too
maybe rebuild the one I have jack up the compression new cam new set of heads.
But then the small block is already done so who knows

not sure I want to redo all the accesories and stuff

So had a evil but interesting thought.............

Pull out the motor and trans from the burb. Pull the axles, switch front springs back to centered 56's, put shorter shackles on front and back, swap out steering box, cross member, shock mounts,. Then put the 6BT in it.

It pretty rust free, but is dented.
It would be a dually burb, but they kind of look weird
Its a burb, not a truck
wouldn't have to switch the doors interior etc.
Lot of work twice
My wheeler would look like everybody else's

Think I will keep the original plan.
