Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

So I got the fenders painted, good old 20ft paint job. Got the hood ground down and painted need some more paint for it.

This foot issue is rather making it tough (such an idiot).

Still have to figure out how I am going to mount the head lights though. But have the space to do it.

So hinges are done

Ran out of gas for the welder, so..... got some better welding to do but got them on

put a plate on the hood and on the cowl the welded some angle iron to it and ran a bolt through and waa laa a hinge.

Front shot with my 20 ft paint job

have a bunch more grinding that needs to be done on the hood and then to see how it looks from there.

Need to figure out haw to attach a prop rod also.

So got working on the grill today

has been a bit of a job took it in and out like 15 times first cement I used did not work so had to use JB plastic weld in a tube worked rather well.

Still have to attach the center of the gill to the light bezels but the light bezels are attached to the top of the grill

Got the passenger side head lights in. Had to move the trans cooler to the drivers side a bit in order for them to fit. Hopefully the oil cooler is far enough back that the lights will fit on the drivers side. It measured about 1.5 inches farther back so should be ok.

Have to cut the driver side headlight support the mount it. Then run some supports to the passenger side to keep both of them from flopping around.

Not really sure what I am doing for front turn signals yet though

The stock ones could fit but they would take up about half of the grill space I have left.

They may fit under the grill just not sure how that would look.

i like the grille like that. and hell its tapered in enough that the fender marker lights could double as fronts. just make em really bright.

Get some turn signal lenses from a gmt400 (like your blue suburban) and put them under the headlights.

I like the grill. Looks cool.

What about going to a single headlight per side with the turn signal marker underneath? Like what the General had.

Or small amber marker lights in the grill openings.

I still have the lower body piece that attaches to the fenders and the grill to put in so not sure anything under the grill is going to work.

Might have to put the stock ones in there to see how much opening they cover up.

That grill is cool, just use some aftermarket trailer turn signals and put em behind or under the grille

I'm curious as to why you even want turn signals, it isn't as if the thing is going to be street legal any longer. If you must do them, I would say either get some small LED lights to mount in or on the front edges of the fenders, probably centered between the headlights.

May not be street legal in Utah, but I do drive it around in Moab. So basically try to keep it as legal as possible.

So headlights are in not quite done yet have to figure out how to get them a little more solidly mounted.

Ok, that makes sense I was just trying to figure out what you were thinking. I still think the simple inexpensive solution of some small amber LED's is going to be your best bet.

I don't like the headlights...when they're on you cant see the hood hinges
