I wanted to say that too but I couldn't come up with a smart ass way to put it last night.
Skid plate installed pic later after work
So got the new free skid plate on. Think it is either 1/4 or 3/16
Going to pull it off now and do some more work to it. Going to weld two pieces of tube about 3/4 inch tall around the transfer case bolt holes so when and if I drag it on some thing its hitting the tube not the bolt head.
Other choice would be space the skid down a bit but this idea should work. Will be rather easy too.
Also going to bent the trailing edge that overhangs a bit, up for no real reason.

sexy! very similar to what i had planned for the belly of my suburban.
So a little update
pulled the skid plate off cut the pieces of tube to weld to the bottom going to do it Tuesday. Got the parts in the garage so it will be a bit warmer.

Just regular stock ones, first set I got were centered off a van, which I never knew they made, this set is the offset ones from trucks.

Motor use to burn a bunch of oil seemed to stop a lot after the module got replaced.
Has a carb, but it is a 454 so some things would need a bit of moding to put the 5.7 in.
I think the only benefits would be the less weight and that it would be FI.
Just kind of a thought at this point.
Rear drive shaft is what ever the 14 bolt came with 1350's (?) I think, has a CV too.

Big block is nice, but fuel injection I think over rules the power in your application.

But is redoing a bunch of things exhaust, on-board air,throttle cable and doing a motor swap just for FI worth it or just save some cash and get a after market one.
umm nope just typing about all the work sounds like to much work for the swap.
