Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

So got a little distracted bought a part that was in the plan just a bit distant plan.

Now to get two lines for it and take out my old fashioned trailer brake control.

In line parking brake for those wondering.

That's exactly what I have planned for my suburban! Did you get it from ORD or is the sticker just there for size reference?

Got it from ORD only one I could find that would work with brake fluid. They are using it on the new rig they have on UA right now. They had it on at BB13 seemed to work rather well.

Sweet! I'll have to get a hold of them, I didn't see it on their website.

The only other ones I've seen are the spring loaded kind with the pull knob.

I have a pretty nice electrical one I picked up a while back...same deal just uses electricity to lock it off...made for brakes and its about the size of two D batteries...rated to some insanely high pressure...used on industrial fork lifts

Got a link?

neg..i'd have to go dig it up in the shop too. If I remember right I did a search on Evilbay for "line lock" one night and found it. It was a couple of years ago.

Thanks, its on my todo list of things. I like the electronic cut off due to the less line that needs to be bent.

Hijack off

I am just going to have some braided steel lines made and run them from the master.

I have an old school trailer brake so I have a T in the line anyway so going to pull that and then put it inline there.

Is a great write up! Looks like I should have came down a day early!
For the line lock look up a whitey or swaglock hydraulic one on ebay. Paid around $30 for mine on the eBay. A place out in California called G&J aircraft was the best place to get stainless lines made when I did all of mine. You can get colors, dot legal and fast shipping. They make them to length so you need to know your length and what size fittings on each end.

So did some work on the burb today

a bit more then I had planned but hey some work is better then none :waytogo:

found a broken shock mount too, so got to make a new one.

frame is about where it needs to be length wise. Have to cut it to fit the rear cross member aka hitch.

next need to figure out how to mount the fuel tank. Not quite sure how I am going to do that yet.
