Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Plan is to do at least the one roof tubes. Maybe, depending on the time, may do both halves of the X

Going faster then I had thought it would. Sure wish I had another day or two though.

Just found out yesterday I have training on the 2nd and the 8th. Was planning on working on it on the 2nd and coming home on the 8th so those plans just changed. :mad1: At least the times on that day changed.

Still gonna work on it this thursday. I might try to make it down

Try to do both as the welds will be easier. I thought about doing the roof bars like this too /I\ or just /\ with future plans those will be slightly easier

Still working on it on Thursday.

Wanna get the two last for not tubes in on Monday and Tuesday then start welding on Wednesday then finish weld it Thursday

Was thinking that I would do the rear most roof as an X the the second roof like / \ the first roof \ / . At least that is my thought.

That way my fat head would have more space above it in the front, the kids, littler people on the second row would have enough and the last would be ok because they are before the X and its for short kids anyway.

last tube in for now

Decided I do not like welding with flux core, it is not very pretty.

Going to refill my tank and see how the solid core works out side with a full tank. I will be able to move it inside the garage if I need to so it should do well.

You gotta do a ton of cleanup with flux core but the welds themselves are very nice looking.

If you're going to do bodywork and paint, I'll be happy to get you committed. :haha: Looks good Keith, sure has changed a lot since the last time I saw it.

Of course I am doing body work and paint. 3lb sledge and a rattle can should be good to go.

So I lost my glasses, no big deal they were old as dirt anyway and were not in good shape.

However I am pissed because I have to take time out of my day tomorrow and go get an eye exam and get glasses.

Need them to drive at night and when I go to the movies. More pissed about taking time out of my day to go do that.

But I caught a Riley :rolleyes::whistle:

Remember that part about having to take the cage out in order to weld it all, well that s is why it was out :waytogo:

Got it all welded

Welded some tabs on so that I could bolt the cage to the body in the old seat belt shoulder holes. Worked rather well. Picture is bad but idea worked. Need to make some spacers to put between the tabs and the body.

Got it welded on the frame to. Only had to stretch it a bit to get it back in the general area that it was before I cut it off.
