Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

Found out that my fancy parking brake is leaking that is why my brakes are getting air in them. So did some tightening on the lines and will see what happens.

Been figuring out how to mount the boxes and stuff that I have to carry all my stuff in, been kind of a pain.

Going to take it to get weighed tomorrow, have to go to the feed store anyway figure what the heck.

Winched the rest of the obstacle with some help. Got pulled to the next two then winched and drove and pulled over them.

Got to the top. Drove out for a bit. Truck died.

Was running a bit hot. Was driving at a pretty good pace with leafs. Figured that I vapor locked it/ bubbled the fuel.

Got it towed for a few miles by Chaotick5

Cooled down then it started. Ran fine the rest of the way out and all the way back to the cabin.

Going to take it to Tom on Tuesday see what he says, then if he doesn't want it that is what it is going to be become

Going to redo the front grill.

Not enough air movement now. Seems that after I lowered the nose after EJS it was too far. Runs a bit hot now.

Wow ive never seen one like that :eek1:

Need more pics man. This thing looks awesome :thumb:

So carnage picture

Happened on Pritchett

One try to many on, according to the map, Axle Hill

After thinking about this it makes sense that it would look like that when it broke. The end that looks like spagetti is the end that was attached to the yoke at the axle end. I don't know exactly how that end is made but I'm guessing it's a forging that they machine the splines into. So when it began to twist the splines rip out first and make it look that way. I've seen some axle shafts that look similar at the splines when they broke.

Causualty of the game IMO. I don't think that this one can be blamed on anything but fatigue and or massive loading.

when you said "massive loading" , first thing popped into my head was your dad sharing that cell phone pic around the campfire.

According to Keith, his conversation with Tom Woods went like this: "hey Tom look at this"..."you had a tire in the air"... "yes I did"

pfff, most of the day is spent on 3 wheels

makes me worry about my TW stuff, a little bit, tiny bit.... meh

I had two tires in the air and my foot on the skinny pedal.

Funny thing is that front shaft is 1330 joints they seemed to hold together.
